Is it a battle for public opinion or is it a battle for the rule of law?

Can the rule of law be over-ruled by the power of public opinion?

That seems to be the strategy of Donald Trump. He keeps his base unified by sucking up to Sean Hannity. If truth be known, he probably thinks Hannity is a dumbass? But he needs him in his PR battle against Robert Mueller. Because, if he loses his base, the rule of law wins the battle.

I'm not certain that avoiding impeachment is his reason. He doesn't seem to exhibit much depth to his reason for doing anything.

In my opinion, he lusts for high ratings as much as for real power or real wealth. Or porn stars for that matter. Laws are just an inconvenience to him.
