How does a public awareness campaign to "be best" help "teach kindness to children"?

The slogan seems at odds with the stated goals.

She also launched a public awareness campaign called "Be Best" to help teach kindness to children as the president sat in the audience in the Rose Garden.

It's very simple English. Really basic words. Easy to spell. Easy to read.

The only words that would be easier would be "be good."

But, well . . . .

We all try to do our best, don't we?

And besides, bullying is the Republican way, isn't it?
