Avenatti on Trump Disclosing Cohen Reimbursement: Either He Was 'Lying Then or He's Lying Now'

President Trump‘s new financial disclosure form confirms a reimbursement to Michael Cohen, which means that yes, it did not take long before Michael Avenatti called into MSNBC to react.

The note of transparency does not explicitly say it was the Stormy Daniels payment being reimbursed, but it says the President reimbursed Cohen for an amount ranging between $100,001 and $250,000. The Daniels payment was $130,000.

Avenatti told MSNBC’s Craig Melvin, “Either Mr. Trump was lying then or he’s lying now… You can’t reconcile this disclosure with what he previously stated to the American people on Air Force One, you can’t reconcile it with what Michael Cohen previously told the American people earlier this year.”

Melvin asked if this may explain why Rudy Giuliani recently disclosed a reimbursement to Cohen despite the President’s previous denials. Avenatti brought up Giuliani’s multiple statements trying to clean up the issue, saying that “these guys can’t keep their lies straight.”
