I don't know if you've noticed that in addition to the groundswell of support for Donnie Two Scoops to receive the Nobel Peace Prize there's another effort to diminish Obama's award. "What did he do to deserve it?" is what I've heard repeatedly. I know that if Trump could force the Nobel Committee to rescind Obama's award with a scrawl of his marker, he'd do it in a heartbeat. Then he'd hold the folder up to the camera and grin like a first-grader: "Look what I did, Mommy!"

The country hasn't been all that "great" to a lot of its population for a while--to some, even ever. I am convinced that many of the MAGA people really think it was never great in the first place (for them) but somehow will be as soon as Trump does his whatever-it-is that "libbruls" are preventing him from doing.

The opening scene to "The Newsroom" was one of the best scenes ever shown on American television, and yet, I'm guessing at least 45% of the country believes the opposite.
