only had one time that someone said no. I walked out and never went back. I usually change it to something like the food channel or something neutral.

I would think that a television on - even with the the sound down - would distract those whose job it is to provide customer service.

Do you know their rationale for this?

Uh, dude, you're talking to yourself over at that blog which leads me to believe 2 things: You have way too much time on your hands to get your point across to no one, and 2, you are unemployed and have become a parody of your own site. YOU are the punchline to the joke.

Christmas and New Years. Some of the products some departments take calls for are scams. I've been lucky that my supervisors respect my view points and don't force me to do some of the crap calling and the stuff I've taking customer service calls on aren't so bad. It would be what I consider legit products and service. I am seeking job else where unfortunately right now this company is basically keeping our town a float.

I stopped asking most places to change the TV Machine off Fox "news" several years ago. It was truly depressing how many people are clueless about what kind of channel the corporate "news" channels are. I just started changing it myself. Maybe once a year someone would object. Most people, if watching it, are watching because it's on, says "news", and they have nothing else to look at.

I was in Best Buy, and saw a small infrared transmitter that plugs into an iPod touch or iPhone and turns it into a universal remote. It's called a FLPR, and the accompanying app is pre-programmed with the codes for every brand of device with a remote. I got it for the TV controls, and have also used it in places with DISH or DirecTV. Even if someone was looking at me when I change the channel off Fox "news", they just see some guy who is fiddling with an iPhone. As far as they know, I'm texting, changing what it is playing or playing a game. Very discreet.

I NEVER ever put up with the foreign-owned channel that went to court to keep their right to lie EVER. Anywhere.

The price has gone down: http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=flpr&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=7391883191&ref=pd_sl_39twpiot2l_e

Get one, change it, and you'll probably be surprised by how long it takes anyone else to notice. Just be discreet and get rid of Fox.

controls. Supervisors can control the TV as well. Some mangers and supervisors are relaxed and put on whatever you request as long as a corporate/client visit isn't happening FOX must be on when that happens. Some supervisors will put the channel on because they enjoy it.
