(5,325 posts).......beating cancer (YEA!!!) and announced last week that he's been offered a new job and he and his family are getting ready to move to Hawaii. I don't know what the proximity is to where they're supposed to be going..............but Geeze!!

(58,785 posts)"in" disaster areas typically learn about them by watching TV and internet, just like everyone else. Houston's flooding seemed a possible exception, but the media refused to indicate how much of the metro area was above water and watching from their family rooms; I kept watching but just couldn't guess.
Thanks for posting, Sunlei. Wow! I'm from California, but our earthquakes are visually boring compared to that -- have to go to the movies to see what they should look like.
