We were at the investiture of the previous PB, Katherine Jefferts Schiori.

And yeah - my mom (who passed a few years ago) and Barbara had known each other since the '40s and Bishop Barbara had been active in the prison community as her ministry before she moved up the ranks.

(23,340 posts)Our church is extremely diverse, partly because of all the immigrants from former British colonies. Many African-Americans, too. Incredible community. We were married there almost 20 years ago. This service was a great blend of the traditional English and American elements.

(127,260 posts)was to London, England. November 1970. I was 8 years old and as the plane descended through the rain clouds at Gatwick, and we disembarked, the sun had come out! It was out much of the time we were there until near the end of the trip.

This is a royal wedding, but they're making sure Meghan's roots and community are present.
Loving the hell out of this.
I know nothing about this, read nothing about it, and had no intention to watch, but this is amazing on several levels.
