Goldwater would vomit if he saw today's GOP. What does that say about today's America?

...even when he was alive, back in the 80s, he was alarmed by what his party was becoming. Today? He wouldn't recognize it. Imagine his reaction to the whole Russia business! I don't want to make him out to be something he wasn't. He was a hard conservative, and wrong on many issues...though he was treated shamefully by the media in the 1964 election. But he wouldn't have a political home in 2018 America, because he was a man of honor and integrity--and there's no place for *that* in the GOP. And I doubt he could stomach turning Democrat. McCain is maybe the last Repub with any honor, and we've lost something with their passing...

And Jay brought up then-President Clinton, thinking he'd get a reaction from Goldwater, but he was disappointed. Goldwater said "he's my president too."
