May 22, 2018 at 9:03 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
In the year since the start of special counsel Robert Muellers investigation, one thing has been notably absent: a public indictment of any Russians for the hacking of the Democratic National Committee, The Hill reports.
Mueller has charged President Trumps former campaign chief, secured guilty pleas from several individuals in Trumps orbit and indicted 13 Russians for an elaborate plot to leverage social media to influence the American electorate.
But the special counsel has yet to announce charges for the hacking of the DNC, even though the intelligence community and private cybersecurity experts linked the attack to the Russian government more than a year ago. Legal experts say there are several possible explanations.

(3,344 posts)I'm getting impatient. Surely someone could be indicted by now? At least one! Why the delay?

(26,060 posts)Otherwise you should already know about the indictments, guilty pleas, wire wearers. Perhaps read up on what Mueller has already accomplished before asking such questions.

(6,324 posts)If they have the Russian who did it identified an indictment, if its been obtained, is probably under seal.
That way they can keep connecting the dots to others without tipping them off.
Odds are that they will never get access to that person anyway, so the indictment is not really about prosecution of them but more about having that in hand to then move on down the chain to people you can lay hands on, so to speak.
