Live volcano action -

Seems to me bigger, louder than when I watched this live cam for a bit yesterday afternoon. And at this hour, it's dark there.

1,170 degrees Celsius (2,140 degrees Fahrenheit) lava flowing at 3,500 cubic feet per second!

It's a mix of steam, hydrochloric acid, and very fine glass particles.

7. They're calling it Laze

Laze -- a mashup of "lava" and "haze" -- is a nasty product formed when hot lava hits the ocean, sending hydrochloric acid and volcanic glass particles into the air.

And to complicate things even more, further inland, sulfur dioxide emissions (VOG) have tripled.

8. It was teh noise that surprised me.

Found some videos that had sound of the volcano site. Roaring and hissing and clanking and banging. And a deep roat like an angry giant.
I can understand "the gods are angry" reaction to that sound.

The hissing especially. VERY noisy stuff, that hot lava.

rather sweetly, actually, as if there's nothing wrong at all.

I'm sure it's not "wrong" but it is unusual, and a bit frightening, all in all.
