Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIs it ever time for the injured party to contest the election?
Hillary Clinton had the election stolen from her. No recount would have been meaningful, of course. So what is the recourse? Our laws fundamentally hold that every injury has a remedy.
What is hers?
And ours?
And while we're thinking about it, what about Al Gore's victory? John Kerry's?

(42,770 posts)at that point to contest? I think yes. Never heard anyone mention this - but perhaps we could have done something then. Unless, there's only provisions for votes and recounts - where this doesn't fit. But, perhaps if we had made a major stink we might have been able to influence electors?

(42,770 posts)say definitively that "no one is saying the Russian hacks had anything to do with the outcome of our election." Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows it did and knows votes were lost for Hillary and she should be president. We should NEVER respond like that - but we always choose the "safe, uncontroversial response". We need to stop that - and take some Avenatti lessons.
The constant "crooked" "sickly" "liar" propaganda WORKED. I know that here in red state hell - people tell me all the time - SHE would have been so much worse (than Trump). These are people who read nothing but Facebook

Trump voters operate in a fact-free zone of emotions: chiefly fear and resentment. They were giddy with hate during the campaign.
Trump is a malignancy.

(16,646 posts)To get recourse, one would have to establish proof, which rarely exists.
But to your larger point, even if it did, once the election is certified and accepted, the laws really don't have any remedy to offer. It's a bit like murder. There are alot of things that can happen to the perpetrator. But none of them will bring the corpse back to life.

That would be a great world to live in... but the Im afraid that it doesnt exist (apart from pharmacological enhancements).

(6,067 posts)The problem is, everyone in power is dirty. It's possible that there will be such a wave in the midterm elections that it will overpower all the ratf*cking and dirty tricks, but it's far from being a sure thing.
