According to the NYT and a professor, Sri has a chance

From the NYT article
Richard Murray, a professor of political science at the University of Houston, told me to keep an eye as well on the 22nd District, a largely suburban swath of the Houston area that he described as a microcosm of demographic changes that are making the state ever more hospitable Democratic turf.

“The suburban counties that led Republicans to dominance here 25 years ago are getting significantly less Republican fast,” he said, adding that Fort Bend County, in the 22nd, is roughly 20 percent Asian-American now. The first-place finisher in the district’s Democratic primary, Sri Preston Kulkarni, is Indian-American. Murray said that if Kulkarni wins his runoff, that could be a significant boost to Democrats’ chances to nab this House seat.

105. Here is some more on the Our Revolution attacks
Mon May 28, 2018, 01:42 PM
May 2018

I am supporting a candidate who was attacked by Our Revolution because he is an Asian http://www.indoamerican-news.com/local-democrats-infighting-attempts-to-smear-sri-kulkarni/

Like many other youngsters going through their tumultuous teen years, Kulkarni attributed the episode to youthful indiscretion, similar to what George W. Bush, Barak Obama and Bill Clinton experienced in their youths.

But Beaton, who is backing candidate Steve Brown in the primary, is throwing out all sorts of minor issues to sideline Kulkarni’s bid. He has challenged Kulkarni’s full name, his residency in the district, his voting record and even his registration application saying he wanted to run in Massachusetts.

Inspite of these diversions, the Indian American community as well as the rest of the South And East Asian communities are staunchly behind Kulkarni and they have shown it by the sheer numbers who have come to his events and are donating funds to his campaign, sensing a chance to have an Asian in Congress from the Metroplex. They came together last night, Tuesday, February 20, at Madras Pavlion to rally behind Kulkarni and push back against these charges.

Encouraged, Kulkarni is counting on their support. “We’re pushing back against this stigmatization and slander,” Kulkarni said. “The Asian communities need to come out and vote to get us over the top in the primary.”

From another article http://www.indiawest.com/news/global_indian/texas-congressional-candidate-sri-kulkarni-acknowledges-teen-drug-arrest-youthful/article_54a39be6-1e55-11e8-8db1-6f520552146f.html

Doug Beaton, the leader of the chapter, warned Fort Bend County Democratic officials on Kulkarni's previously undisclosed past in a letter posted on social media, it said.

The letter suggested that Kulkarni, whose full first name is Srinivas, is running under an assumed name and that he had previously registered with the Federal Election Commission to run for a congressional seat in Massachusetts.,,,,

Fort Bend County's past Democratic chair, Don Bankston, a member of the party's state executive committee, said the attack on Kulkarni is off base and potentially slanderous, according to the report.

The head of the Our Revolution group told voters that Sri is "not one of us" and we do not want "one of them on the ballot." These attacks failed

president of EMILY’s List, gets three.

The quotes from Democrats currently in office are limited to those members who hail from Abram's home state of Georgia. That was a smart move.

While Democratic Senators Harris and Booker actively campaigned for Abrams, they are listed among "other supporters" under the principle that "all politics is local". This is a Georgia state election.

Democratic minority leaders (i.e. Schumer and Pelosi) and 2016 Democratic nominee HRC were probably omitted from any mention as "supporters" so that Republicans cannot make their support an issue with crossover voters in the GE.

Both Rep. Pelosi and Senator Harris raised funds for Stacey Abrams, as did a coalition of liberal groups, including MoveOn, the Daily Kos, the Working Families Party, NARAL Pro-Choice America, People for the American Way, and Collective PAC. Abrams also invited HRC to record a GOTV robo call for primary election.

and HRC recorded a GOTV robocall for Abrams. Nice of Our Revolution to jump on the bandwagon, but it's quite a stretch to credit them for the win.

Stacey Abrams, who won the Democratic governor’s nomination in Georgia, was also an Our Revolution endorsee, but Abrams was backed by virtually every Democrat with a national political profile, and nobody will see this as a case of Sanders’s support in particular putting her over the top.

I just don't understand why they are listed among "the losers" considering they backed the primary candidate who won the most high profile race in a landslide - and I also don't see which category Tracey Evans falls under among the list of "losers" either.

Stacey Evans congratulated Stacey Abrams and strongly urged her supporters to support Abrams. That's what happens when Democrats have two Democrats facing off in a Democratic Primary ... Run hard, then immediately work to move forward together.

We should see that much more frequently instead of sour grapes sulking.

51. Hillary Clinton backs Stacey Abrams in Georgia Democratic governor's race
Sat May 26, 2018, 02:25 PM
May 2018

Stacy won despite Our Revolution's endorsement. https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/21/politics/hillary-clinton-stacey-abrams-georgia-robocall/index.html

Hillary Clinton has waded into the Georgia governor's race, recording a robocall that urged Democratic voters to back former state House minority leader Stacey Abrams in Tuesday's primary.

Clinton endorsed Abrams, a favorite of progressives who is seeking to become the nation's first African-American female governor, over moderate former state Rep. Stacey Evans.

"A Yale educated attorney, Abrams is the only candidate with bold new plans to ensure Georgians have access to good jobs, quality public schools, affordable child care and higher education," Clinton said in the call, noting, in a reference to the candidates' similar names, that it's "Abrams, with an 'A.'"

Clinton's robocall for Abrams shows that her support is still in demand in certain races. Clinton was backed overwhelmingly by black voters in the South in the 2016 primary and general election.

I was a delegate to the national convention and the Texas delegation and the Georgia delegation shares a bus to the convention site. The Georgia delegation was very upset that sanders sanctions and approved the stunt of the sanders delegation who booed Congressman John Lewis at the national convention. I know that that this stunt was popular with the idiots on JPR but Georgia democrats were not happy with Sanders https://jackpineradicals.com/boards/topic/hey-john-lewis-karmas-a-mf-aint-it/

Lewis' endorsement was far more important than sanders who is not listed on her website.

Does any sanders supporters regret the attack on Congressman John Lewis at the National Convention by Sanders supporters? The Clinton delegates were warned about this attack 20 minutes before it occurred and we were told that sanders refused to stop it. I know that the idiots who post on JPR were so proud of this stunt.

94. Congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis gets heckled by angry protesters during DNC interview
Sun May 27, 2018, 11:06 PM
May 2018

I was a delegate to the National Convention. The Clinton delegates were warned 20 or so minutes before his appearance that the Sanders delegates were going to boo Congressman John Lewis. This stunt was evidently planned in advance and I have heard that sanders was aware of it but did not try to stop his supporters. Later this stunt was done by sanders supporters https://splinternews.com/congressman-and-civil-rights-icon-john-lewis-gets-heckl-1793860654

Given congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis' legacy as a staunch progressive—one whose entire public life has been dedicated to giving voice to the marginalized and oppressed—it's surprising, then, to hear him heckled so vociferously by angry protesters during an on-air interview about his party's historic nomination of Hillary Clinton, the first female major party presidential candidate in United States history.

Speaking with MSNBC's Tamron Hall outside the Democratic National Convention on Thursday morning, Lewis was interrupted multiple times with shouts of "bullshit" and "she stole it" as he praised his party for selecting Clinton as their standard-bearer.

"You know, we have elected a person of color for two terms. He broke barriers, President Barack Obama did in his way," Lewis told Hall. "And tonight, this night, we're going to nominate a woman."

The Texas delegation shared a bus to the convention site with the Georgia delegation. There were some pissed off delegates by these stunts.

I am a big fan on Congressman Lewis. I have some great pictures of Congressman Lewis with Kareem and Keith Ellison at an event at the convention. I have heard Congressman Lewis tell his "preaching to chicken" story four times in person

I am glad that Congressman Lewis endorsed this candidate and I have no doubt that this endorsement was very important. As you noted, sanders was featured in this candidate's webpage and I think that I know why

are now suddenly trying to claim her victory as theirs?

Laughable.

Especially seeing as HRC was the one who saw the promise in her, and asked her to speak at the convention.

I also have yet to hear anyone that those 'revolutionaries' supported denounce their booing of John Lewis.

With all the denouncing I have heard about the Democratic party, not one word against the abuse shown Abrams and Lewis....

Some revolution.
