Prices have hit $3/gal just before the holiday in my area. It's all about the oily oligarchs, domestic and foreign.

That doesn't sound bad, I know. However, considering that is a jump of $0.70 in four months, it's a big deal. I'm worried that it will get much worse as the summer progresses.

I try to trick myself into conserving whatever is left in the tank. Maybe that's silly, but I usually only stop for gas twice a week.

Historically, gasoline prices are higher in spring/summer than winter.

If one looks at a commodity spot price chart for Gasoline RBOB (Reformulated Blendstock for Oxygenate Blending) over the years for seasonal tendencies, they’ll find that In the lead-up to summer (April/May/June), prices tend to rise in anticipation of peak driving season. Prices tend to fall in the winter when inclement weather keeps consumers off the roads.

That was the last time I can recall gas prices being very high. It looks like we are just about there again.

Remember coop gas: buy in at that day's price and only pay that price from then on? I wonder if they will start that again.

... I guess if you are a fatcat republican tycoon corporate lardass who goes golfing every freaking weekend on the public tax dollar, you don't give a shit about gas prices.

Well republicans can shove it, because Americans care bigly.
