Nor are they Christians. Jesus Christ is not their Lord and Savior. They need to be told that over and over by the people.

Just because they take away healthcare coverage does not mean all those people will stop needing medical care. With no ability to pay, state tax revenues will have to cover a large chunk of the costs from the increased demands on ERs and other public assistance programs. The lost revenue will hurt small and rural medical providers, and much needed hospitals will be forced to close, affecting the lives of whole communities.

There's no recovery for those lost facilities, and the skilled staff will move to other states looking for better job security. The state loses their buying power and that means other retail and service jobs will be lost.

There's also the lost wages from workers who get too sick to work, or they must stay home to care for an ill family member, all of which means a loss of state tax revenues. Sick kids stay home longer, and that cuts the federal money the state gets for school attendance.

The Republicans in Texas think they are punishing poor people for the terrible crime of being poor, but it's like they are shooting themselves in the foot instead.
