Emmet Flood’s presence and statement at the outset of both meetings today was completely inappropriate, and I told him so. It only underscores what Rudy Giuliani said: the President’s legal team expects to improperly obtain and use such information for their defense.

Emmet Flood appeared at meetings where Justice Department officials discussed a source of information on the Trump campaign. Critics say it was wildly inappropriate.

...............The White House downplayed Flood’s role in the meeting. In a statement, the White House press office said Flood and Kelly only went to the meetings to “facilitate” them.

“Neither Chief Kelly nor Mr. Flood actually attended the meetings but did make brief remarks before the meetings started to relay the President’s desire for as much openness as possible under the law,” the statement said. “They also conveyed the President’s understanding of the need to protect human intelligence services and the importance of communication between the branches of government.”

But Flood’s presence fueled the perception that the White House was trying to monitor the investigation into the Trump campaign. And Rudy Giuliani, one of Trump’s personal lawyers, helped.

“We want to see how the briefing went to today and how much we learned from it,” he told Politico, referring to how he’s deciding whether or not Trump will sit for an interview with Mueller. “If we learned a good deal from it, it will shorten that whole process considerably.”

Carrie Cordero, formerly an attorney in the Justice Department’s National Security Division, said Flood’s attendance created the appearance of impropriety.

“It creates the appearance that the briefing was set up for the purpose of the defense team learning what was going on in the investigation,” she told The Daily Beast. “That’s the optics of it. Whether or not that is really what’s happening, we don’t exactly know. But I can’t think of any positive reason for him having been there.”......

The meeting itself was unheard of. It was a defendent's best buddy demanding to see the prosecution's notes, and the judge saying, "Okie dokey." It is a dangerous precedent, it undermines the rule of law.

But what are we talking about? We are talking about the fact that the lawyer and Kelly took a walk over there and blathered before the meeting.

This is just more distraction. We are not talking about the important thing: the fact that the idiot republican president's team once again ripped away a piece of the rule of law.

I do think the idiot republican president is an idiot, but I also think he is a savant in manipulating the message. This is a masterful distraction, and let's the true crime slip past us

And fatso's former ghost writer Tony Schwartz feels that Rod Rosenstein got rattled, and gave in to fatso. He also said that fatso's going to KEEP moving the goal posts on Rosenstein until he balks, then fatso and minions will start ginning up reasons as to WHY he had to fire him. 3 days ago my friend said just about the same things Schwartz said today. I told him to be patient and let's see what happens next, because Rosenstein's trying to hold fatso off as best as he can, allowing Mueller to complete as much of his investigation against fatso et al as he can. Well, what happened next was that Kelly and fatso's defense attorney Emmit Floyd was allowed in the room telling people let's keep it honest in there?

OMFG

Yeah, Rosenstein's soon to be fired, because fatso's going to keep moving the goal posts on the DOJ until he crosses already more crossed and treasonous LINES.
