the FBI was on to the Russian interference; had an informant in the Trump Campaign and knew some of Trump's people were working with the Russians (i.e., Carter Page, Manafort & Popodoupolis)?

Why didn't the FBI do something to expose this before the election and discredit Trump and his minions?
