Trump's Phone Is a Hacker's Dream
Unfortunately for this president, Twitter seems more important than protecting his own secrets—and the nation’s.Earlier this week, Politico broke the news that President Donald Trump refuses to give up using off-the-shelf mobile phones, the imposition of better security being considered “too inconvenient.” While it would be difficult to hack these phones, it can be done, and there are few targets of a higher priority to potential hackers than the president of the United States.
According to the Politico report, Trump uses two phones: one that allows access only to Twitter and a small number of news outlets, and one for making phone calls. Both phones are periodically inspected and replaced, although the exact length of time that Trump keeps each phone is unclear. Politico reports that the president has gone as long as five months without having one of the phones reviewed by security personnel. In comparison, President Barack Obama’s secured mobile devices were inspected every 30 days.
Trump’s use of these phones, on this schedule, does keep things convenient for the president, but also carries significant security risks. Despite efforts by White House security staff to prevent or detect compromises, the phones could still be hacked. Fear of the political fallout if efforts are detected might deter attackers more than anything that could be done to secure the phones themselves, but not every attacker worries so much about that as to forgo possible direct access to the communications of the president of the United States.
Of the two devices, Trump’s Twitter-and-news phone is the easier to target. It is not clear if the pre-loaded news outlets are accessed through apps or bookmarked sites, but it doesn’t really matter which is the case. The goal for an attacker would likely be to get Trump to open a specific page in a browser that could deliver an exploit. If the president had already opened his browser, that makes things a little easier, but Twitter and news apps have in-app browsers and content that is only viewable on them. These links could be made to look like a trusted site, or even be on a news outlet favored by Trump that had itself been hacked.

I had a dentist appointment about a month ago and when I walked in the damn TV in the waiting room was turned to FOX! There was no one there but me, and I looked around desperately for the remote, couldn't find it, so I asked my dentist's assistant what was going on. I know both her and my dentist (also female) very well, my dentist has treated my entire extended family and I know her political views - and I just happened to be there on both 9/11 and election day 2016 - so we talk about these things. Her assistant explained that some previous patient had "asked" for the channel to be changed. *sigh*
But in that few minutes, I was completely blown away by what I heard. You can probably guess - with all that is going on in this country and the world that's scaring the rest of us - they were discussing Hillary's emails! 
You poor thing.. I would have desperately been searching for the remote, too!

When I moved to New York from Kauai in '98.. I hadn't had a tv for years.. so when I got one fox was one of the channels.. it took me about 2 weeks to see how they were brainwashing.. and this was in '98. Only gotten exponentially worse from what I read on DU.
After reading what others on DU have done, I wonder if I could figure out to block it, LOL. I know someone else who recently did that... 
And being at the dentist on 9/11 was a real life changer for me. I just happened to have an appointment, was there with my mother, and I think I was there for X-Rays or something - but she had the TV on CNN and I was stuck in the chair just watching that second plane hitting over and over while all hell was breaking loose, phones ringing and everyone freaking out - and I was scared witless. I'd always voted, but after that I was determined to find out more about what was really going on in this country and the world - and I eventually found DU back in 2003 and have worked on three congressional campaigns! 
I mentioned that experience once on DU and someone asked if I'd ever mentioned it to my dentist - so I did - and that's how I found out that she's "one of us," too! And I should have known since I have a memory of her having the Clarence Thomas hearings on the TV, back in the day. We usually have MSNBC on the TV when I'm there, these days. 
on 9/11/2001 @ 8:45am. I was in Little Falls, New York, still in bed watching the Today Show.. back when I still watched tv. I couldn't believe it.

And I've seen the Today Show footage - I know someone who thought to record it. And I know how you felt. My knees felt weak when I finally walked outside and it was also primary day here in New York so my mother and I planned on stopping at the school to vote on the way home, but the place was deserted. The whole day - and immediately after that was just surreal.
out to walk to the track where I run.. and past all these houses and it was like in a fog. Thinking about all those people in the WTCs. Wondering if the people in the houses knew yet and how everything would change forever.
Even in my neophyte politically stage I knew this would help bush's popularity. And, it did with the help of M$M.. who assisted them in Bombing Iraq. Turns out they could have done more to prevent it.
I don't believe Al Gore would have ignored the August 6th Memo. This country has some bad karma to clean up.

It seemed like everyone was in shock. And of course here in New York, so many people had connections. But now that I know so much more, I'm actually more scared now. Bush* sure messed up big time, but Trump is selling us out intentionally. 
And I agree about President Gore. Sandy Berger warned Condi Rice.
