(115,587 posts)But the reason Trump is regularly insulted for his looks is that he so often does it to others, especially women. There are plenty of unattractive politicians who never get insulted for their looks because they don't make an issue of appearance (and it's often said that politics is show business for ugly people). The only one I can think of besides Trump is McConnell, and only because he looks a lot like a turtle, which isn't necessarily even an insult.
Trump, on the other hand, is an exceedingly vain man who thinks he's Joe Studmuffin, irresistible to women, despite the fact that he's bald as an egg under that bizarre combover, which he dyes a color ranging somewhere between traffic-vest yellow and urine; he managed to get the now-discredited WH doctor to tell an obvious bald-faced lie about his weight; and he uses makeup or fake tan lotion to color his face orange, apparently laboring under the mistaken belief that orange is the color of a healthy, manly golf-pro tan (has he ever been tested for color-blindness?). He's a hot mess, aesthetically speaking, yet he constantly derides the looks of others. If he weren't so vain himself while being so critical and insulting toward other people, he wouldn't get such a ration of crap about his own appearance.

(4,078 posts)After the horrible insults hurled at Chelsea Clinton and Michelle Obama, the right deserves every petty insult that creative people like The V.O. can come up with.
(On a personal note, though, this had to have hurt the orange dump. My hair is similarly thinning and I hate when it can be seen so obviously. Yes, it's vanity, but it's still maddening.)

(82,383 posts)appearance, thinking it makes him incredibly attractive - we're making fun of that, not his natural looks. If he went about with his natural looks, he wouldn't draw this kind of comment.

don't want shit, Trump? Don't start shit.
By the way, that creep has allowed the federal government (you know, our government) to take children away from their families without compelling reason or due process, lock those children away and then loose track of them.
At its lowest register English can be a rough language, but even it doesn't contain the proper words to describe a monster who could allow that.

It was so ridiculous-- and yet, it seemed entirely earnest, like this is the way the minion saw him, as a 32-year-old superpowered bodybuilder with tremendous testosterone-fueled beard-growing ability.
And very, very Aryan.

(1,068 posts)Old news here
I saw the CNN interview that Jake Tapper did some time after 45 declared his candidacy. He said he had no idea who David Duke was or anything about this KKK organization. At first I could not believe that a candidate could say that kind of stuff. I went on the CNN website and Jake Tapper laid it out in a written article.
Either 45 is an idiot or he thinks the citizens are idiots.
I know that he thinks we are idiots. I have been frustrated and angered about that ever since. He conned 62 million people into voting for him. His immediate reaction to the election results was one of surprise that con job actually worked. Like I said we are supposed to be smarter than this. We can not permit jerks like this, the Russians or anybody else subvert our election system.
