Rick Wilson: About "Stupid-Gate"

“On Fox News, talk radio and in the Trump-right online media armies, the innocent Trump campaign was the victim of FBI spying against them, ordered by notorious Kenyan Muslim sleeper agent Barack Obama, evil sorceress Hillary Clinton and their army of Deep State apparatchiks.

The President wants you to call the FBI's Russian counterintelligence program Spygate, but rational people have declined to indulge him. Stupidgate is instead just a ludicrous new chapter in the long chronicle of Trump dumbassery. (snip)

For the FBI actions Trump calls Spygate to be a real concern, it would require malice. Instead, we've seen justification after justification for a robust counterintelligence response to Russian malfeasance. Drawn to the Trump campaign like flies to the biggest manure pile in the universe, the FBI wasn't after him, but rather — quite properly — the Russians who sought to (and may have succeeded) in subverting American democracy and corrupting our elections.

There's a line in the 1990s film "Grosse Point Blank" where John Cusack's assassin character defends his line of work. He says, "If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there."

'Breaking news', .
Doing my 30 minute intense interval exercise in front of the fox channel this morning, there seemed to be a bit of a change. Apart from the shepherd smith, a rare reporter, almost all fox opinion people that I've seen, seem to toe the line to trump. However, today the headline banner at the bottom of the screen read, 'President Trump claims, [yes they said CLAIMS], that a spy was planted in his campaign.' i.e. trump's 'spygate'.

For fox news that seems huge to me for fox to headline 'trump claims'. Last time I recall, [and I'm not at all authoritative here], was in Trump's now famous 'Inauguration crowd size claim', , some foxies cast a bit of doubt there on the trump crowd size claim, and that seemed to be after that ludicrous claim was blown up b other media . [Could fox news have some limits? ]

Watching my Trumpian relatives try to swallow one more impossible expectation from Trump. "If you're loyal to me, you have to hate everything you used to love, like the FBI and war heroes and courtesy and little children being held by their moms. And you now have to love things you used to hate, like North Korea's Supreme Leader! You have to trust China and distrust the FBI!"
