Summer of 2016...
Remodeling my kitchen. MSNBC was on in the adjacent living room. Trump was puking up some word salad. I verbally expressed to a like minded person who was helping me... "Listen to that. You know what he is doing has a purpose. Some people are eating that shit up. I'm hoping that there are not enough of those whack jobs to get him elected. Remember I am telling you this...if he gets elected, it's going to get fucking bad. I don't know what exactly is going to happen, but it will be heinous and it will change the country permanently".
Election night...fell asleep in my recliner thinking that there may still be some hope.
A few hours later...wake up in a sleepy fog because I thought I heard that fuckface was announced the winner. Fell back asleep thinking...no, musta heard it wrong.
Wake up in the morning...yup. He won. Harnessed my dog and walked him in the woods on that dreary morning. Twigs and leaves crunching under my feet. Bad stomach ache...almost puked. Horrible sense of dread...absolutely terrified.
Today...well, we all know where we are.
