Dad was Navy, WWII, Phillipines. His ship, auxiliary, got hit with secondary fire. He landed in the water saying a 'last prayer'. He was rescued, but he witnessed some of his mates weren't as fortunate. [Very bad injuries and death.] He could hardly speak of this to my mom when he returned home. The tears would stream down his face.😪
