Thanks for posting this! This was super insightful. I loved how she simplified all the complicated sounding scandals by, as my grandmother would say, making it plain!.
The simple fact is that branding works. Trump is terrible at so much, but he's actually good at marketing. Why is there no catchy name for the Russia Probe? What is it called? Russia Gate? Trump/Russia Gate? Lawyer Gate? On substance, we win...all day, everyday. However, tRump's juvenile names and ridiculous attention grabbing (usually false) tweets are repeated over and over again. These key terms and phrases stick and become a part of the lexicon. True or not, he manages to insert his narrative (covered by a voracious media) and those that want that confirmation bias get what they need directly from his mouth (reinforced by everyone else constantly repeating him).
I know that we are not inclined to walk and talk in scripted/disciplined messaging. We may need to consider changing our tactics to fight this particular opponent.
I can repeat every single republican talking point on most issues because, (a) I feel better prepared to debate the issues when I know where the opposition stands, and (b) because they all make the same statements on all tv apperances. Now, I'm not suggesting that we go all "empire" like them. But, I do think that we should agree on certain titles/monikers for certain things/events/happenings. At least we may get a better shot at having some of our "branding" of the current situation stick, also.

I loved her “call to arms” at the end, reminding us that we are the majority and we need to start acting like it. Watching this also helped me to internalize the understanding that the culture wars have already been won by the left, which drives the right crazy. We have something that they desperately want, but can’t have. They have all of the political power, but we own the cultural power, if only we realize it’s right there in our hands. Once that happens, Mordor is doomed.

I love this, "Mordor is doomed". Let it be so! I always watch/dvr her show. I've never seen the "after party" before. Thanks for sharing, Ariadne.
