1. I am pretty sure that in the state of Florida, anyone selling food and/or drink is legally bound...

....to provide restrooms to all. Having to make a purchase is irrelevant. Maybe that is incorrect, but I think it has been law for many years.

I don't know specifically about Florida, but I do know about those laws in general.

10. I am going by what my best friend's wife told me years ago. She did inspections for the health dept.

She said that retail stores, barbershops, hardware stores, etc did not have to open restrooms to the public, but food/drink preparation...yes. Although I freely admit you may be correct....

2. when i was a tourist in NYC finding a bathroom while walking around the city was a daunting task...

wonderful. Before this finding a bathroom to use when you were out and about was not a simple task.

Maybe it wasn't official policy but starbucks has always been the place people saw as a place to use the restroom if they couldn't find anything else.

And so many people go to starbucks that even if people may not but something that time there are many others where they have and will.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker but i do like the smell and can see how it could help business also.

People will see things that they will come back to buy again.
