If you look at russian propaganda as a whole, it becomes clear that their goal is not to support Trump.
The goal of Russia is to destabilize the US and to paralyze its government and society with tribal infighting.

Look at what they did during the 2016 campaign:
Russian trolls supported white racists, sure. But they also tried to rile up African-Americans and Muslims against the Democrats.

Look at their current state-propaganda:
They write flattering articles about Trump, how he's the victim of a witch-hunt.
And at the same time they write articles depicting Trump as a bumbling fool.

Russia is feeding both sides with talking-points and hate. Russia is like an arms-dealer selling arms to both sides.



What is Russia's geopolitical strategy? To answer that question, look at how they depict Russia and the US:
The US is depicted as a war-hungry, depraved hellhole of sin, poverty, corruption, racism, violence, hatred and perversion.
Meanwhile Russia is depicted as boring, stable, reliable and diplomatic.





This is not about Trump. This is a psy-ops to destroy the fabric of US-society itself.

4. People are not going to understand that

Folks seem to believe that the various media operations of Russia were designed to support Trump, as if there would be some sort of magic in just promoting Trump in order to convince voters to support him.

Generating distrust and amplifying division is the point.

This is so right on. Putin is using drumpf for his own ends and will destroy drumpf after he's gotten what he wants. Once all sanctions are removed and we give them back their spying facility, and we've hurt the EU economically by imposing steep tarriffs, and we are out of Syria, he will turn on drumpf and make public the tapes where drumpf agrees to conspire with Russia to steal the election and giving him confidential secret information.
