No war games in south Korea?

That's what the Asshole said. Gosh we can save soooo much money. He just decided that on a whim. Didn't bother to consult with South Korea or Japan or his own military chiefs or his own Defense Director. Nope, no need to consult with anyone, because only he can fix things.

To me, this is the most frightening outcome of this fiasco. The Japanese must be seething this morning.

1. Kim played it perfectly

Test, test and more tests until the world is convinced you have a viable arsenal. And then get concessions for not testing even though you don't need to test anymore. Now pressure for lifting of the economic sanctions knowing that Trump will look like a failure if you decide to run one more nuclear test.

They aren't "war games", they are "military training missions". Twitler will say anything then swear he never said it. No wonder he and Kim got along so well.

3. Right or wrong, we are in a better position today than when trump was talking about nuking NK.

Even if all this is short-lived, it's better than where we were. trump is still a dufus, racist, incompetent leader, threat to the world, etc., but for at least a few days, he's not threatening to nuke North Koreans.

Now, if he'd get behind healthcare, income equality, civil rights, and all the other problems that need fixing, he might actually earn a little respect. No, I don't expect him to do so. In fact, he'll probably make it worse for the poorest Americans.

That's a pretty low bar for "success", but probably the best we'll ever get out of Trump here.

9. For Trump

I don't recall worrying about NK talking about nuking us and/or President Obama's ability to handle a crisis situation when he was in the WH for the past 8 years. There were a few weeks/months over the past year that I honestly wasn't feeling safe and secure that Trump wasn't going to instigate nuclear war himself with NK. Don't get me wrong, I think that it's great that it doesn't look like we're going to be having a nuclear exchange with NK anytime soon but I'm not giving Trump "brownie points" for cooling off on his incessant twittering about and name-calling of Kim. For all we now, Kim messed up his nuke program himself and is now trying to "make nice".
