VA election results:

Interesting race: US House District 10

Incumbent Trump supporter: Barbara Comstock won the repub primary with 60.7% of the vote. Repubs in total got 46,584 votes (about 99% counted). Comstock, if you can believe the Puke Logic of her ads is for Trump because he's so good for working women.

Democratic Jennifer Wexton won the Democratic primary with 41.8% of the votes in a 6 person primary. Overall the Democrats had 53,842 votes.

Comstock is going down!

My rep Gerry Connolly was unopposed, as was Sen Tim Kaine.

Abigail Spanberger won the 7th primary easily. She has 900 volunteers I've read. I did volunteer for her so I guess I'm in that number. I guess it's no football season for me this year.

I'd say Stewart is the more mainstream of the 2, which is to say the Republican Party has gone completely off the rails. Freitas is a Rand Paul Republican, while Stewart is a Trump Republican.

The only reason Republicans distance themselves from Stewart is that he's a little too overt in his bigotry.

this primary season. My rep and Sen Kaine both ran unopposed, so no need to Democratic signs.

Sure, he needs to learn the art of the dogwhistle. He's a bit too overt in his bigotry for the GOP's taste, but he's a Trump Republican. And the GOP base is the Trump base. There's a reason pro-Trump candidates are winning their primaries and no non-retiring Republican Congress critter is standing up to Trump.

This exacerbates their problems with race.

When a host’s immune system (conscience) is compromised, the cancer quickly spreads to consume the entire body. That’s where we are now.

Trump is the almost inevitable result of 50 years of Southern Strategy/dog whistling, race-based gerrymandering, race-based voter suppression and intentionally undermining trust in government. The GOP created this monster.

we're looking at least a possible 3 seat pick-up in VA. Comstock is the most vulnerable and I see her likely to lose. Dem turnout in the primary in her district was higher than Republican and now that Stewart is going to hurt down-ballot races, she's in trouble. Dave Brat and Scott Taylor are also possible pick-ups.

Bet all 3 are livid that Stewart won.

As far as Comstock's opponent, if all the Dems who turned out to vote for all those Dem candidates coalesce around tonight's top vote-getter, Jennifer Weston, the numbers suggest she'll take it.

He lives in Comstock's district and has been hoping for her defeat for years.
