did photobucket relent?

I now have two no pants signs in my sig line, one is hosted on postimg (formerly imgur) and one is on pb (cyberswede's account) the second had been showing the photobucket placeholder directing you to pay $400 to link images.

testing a few from my account can everybody see these? -

wow!!! I wondered why the scorpion on the toilet paper was showing yesterday.

and they 'relented' insofar as giving me a year for $30/40. Pain in the neck process, tho; not the same.

at the time they shut everybody off I wrote a bunch of emails and support requests, complained here, etc but I never heard back. noticed yesterday an old pic showed up but just thought it was a glitch but now I am seeing a bunch of miine in old threads and MFM too. But also still some of the "no photo" messages on his. I do remember he had a few times where they messed up his files so that may be why not everything is showing. I am freaking out. I hope it stays. I wouldn't have minded paying a few bucks - 30-40 isn't too bad, but 400 was outrageous.

I answered in the most negative way I could on every single question. On the one or two that asked to name a competitor that I liked better, I wrote "Postimage.org"

They got too big for their britches and it bit them on the ass. No wonder they changed their policies.

Easily early April.

In one of the comment boxes I wrote how much their page loading sucked because of all the stupid ads as well as how much of a pain it was to scroll through pages of photos.

Their platform became a joke. I let them know.

Seems to me I got a generic response email a few days later

I would not mind paying a reasonable amount but to go from free to $400/year is insane.

It's a disposable address - I don't trust them either. Not getting redirected to ads either.

For old times sake...

Photobucket has new management, and we are liberating your images!
As of today, your hosted images are live.

Photobucket has a new management team that wants to do the right thing. We are committed to earning back your trust and offering comprehensive and flexible image storage and hosting options for our customers. We’ve taken your feedback and made some changes to our pricing model that allows us to offer competitively priced plans that fit the needs of all of our customers.

For a limited time, our current customers’ hosted images have been restored and Photobucket is introducing a new pricing plan that is built around everyone’s needs.

In an effort to improve our customers’ experience, we’ve also moved away from an advertising-based model and have eliminated a portion of ads from the site.

Photobucket pioneered the image sharing and hosting market 15 years ago, and our new management team is committed to returning Photobucket to the premier imaging service people had come to know and trust.

There are more positive changes on the way, but for now we are excited to share this new compelling subscription option, as a testament to our dedication to you, our valued customers.

and it seems they have indeed instituted new, more reasonable plans - http://photobucket.com/plans/

comments at the FB page are still mostly angry. man they did fuck up but if they have released images I guess that is cool. probably when you verify email they will be contacting to pay and if you don't I suspect they will be blocking them again. will be watching to see what happens.
