4. The underlying problem here in our argument comes from the fact that US families ...

Are broken up ALL THE TIME due to a parent being imprisoned.

I'm not AT ALL saying I support the idea that we should be making children suffer for what their parents did, nor that 'sneaking in to the US' is some major crime ... but I am sadly admitting that I'm not convinced this is a good basket to put our eggs in, politically.

IT SHOULD BE, mind you ... but our Nation is sick atm, and has lost it's fucking mind, so ... it may not actually BE. That's how far we've fallen. Sad as it is to say out loud. It's very much looking to me like an awful lot of people just ... don't care.

Nevermind that this attitude gives our Country NO MORAL STANDING in the world ...

7. There's a difference

A US family will be allowed to keep in contact with the imprisoned parent, the imprisoned parent can keep in touch with their child... difference is that immigrant families are being forcibly separated and neither the parents or the children are provided with a way to maintain contact!

Why is it that people make these comparisons, they are not even remotely the same!!

The WHOLE (nonwhite) WORLD is one giant refugee colony bangin' down our door. Can't take 'em all, y'know.

Country at large needs to be made to know that something worse than 'just' separating them when they cross the border ... is going on here.

It should not HAVE to be presented as worse than that, but I fear it may have to be to have any real impact.

… Collins. She now needs staff to relay phone calls for information... I guess she can no longer think for herself... sad that she is unable to read a newspaper or watch the news on TV. I hope Susan Collins retires soon and is able to enjoy her twilight years in peace.
