An old psychology film on what separation from parents does to a small child.

I haven't posted much academic stuff on the separation issue because in many ways I know too much and it's very complicated. Maybe I'll have time to go into it soon. But take it from me, the effects of separation from parents has been an important issue since it was discovered that kids can be physically well cared for and yet suffer irreparable damage from it.

A Two Year Old Goes to Hospital is a long and horrifying film showing a little girl slowly giving up as she mourns and withdraws. It as policy for a while to keep parents away because of "germs." To give you some comfort I'll add that she was reunited after only a few days.

I saw a similar film in my class. And remember crying.

I get angrier everyday about this. And I want Twitler and kkk sessions destroyed over this policy.

Watching it again teared me up again. I remember there was dead silence in class when the teacher shut off this film.

I had some mystery thing that landed me in hospital several times, beginning at age one.

Hopefully, the ICE captive children will have social contact, but it won't be from the primary caregiver and it won't be enough.

They need it. They may not speak English. They need security through physical contact.
