Marco Rubio creates the worst hashtag of all time

https://thinkprogress.org/marco-rubio-detain-and-maintain-trump-family-separation-47d66889875c/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

By Aaron Rupar at Think Progress

"SNIP........

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) says he is opposed to President Trump’s policy of separating immigrant families. He is not, however, opposed to indefinitely detaining toddlers and babies.

On Wednesday morning, Rubio coined a #DetainandMaintain hashtag meant to express support for legislation that would overturn a policy that prevents children from being indefinitely detained.

......

Currently, the so-called 1997 “Flores settlement” prevents the government from detaining undocumented children who are apprehended crossing the border for long periods of time.

.......

Unsurprisingly, Rubio’s hashtag gained little traction beyond people mocking it and pointing out how Orwellian it is.

weeks ago. And they knew they'd be an outcry and then people would be more apt to accept whole families in detention. Trump claims the migrants a breaking laws but he is the king of driving right through laws.

3. I hesitate to say this is going to get interesting, as there are lives at stake. But...

...today's executive order didn't even remotely resolve the issue. No surprise.

There's no way all - or any - of the families can receive due process in 20 days or less. So, will due process be thrown out the window in favor of deporting each and every family? That seems the most likely outcome given who is in power.

7. If Flores isn't amended or overruled, then it's either deportation or asylum.

I wish I was optimistic about asylum.

9. If Flores isn't amended or overruled, there would seem to be only 1 option Trump will go for.

And it's not granting asylum.

11. GOP is always doing things to make Rubio seem like a creative solution

maker. They let him 'caveat' the worst of GOP legislation. They are setting him up to be a compassionate conservative. Don't know how jailing children and their families long term is going to help him.

rebuttal back in the day? They had great things in mind for Rubio. Then the water thing happened.

Trump did us a favor by exposing the buffoon in the 2016 GOP primary debates.

13. Rubio quit and the GOP got him back in the fold. My thesis is he is

a dyslexic like all the GOP Presidents have been going back to Reagan and they need him to be their next nominee. I can't see him running on #detain-maintain or whatever the hell that hashtag is. Nobody decent, the majority of the country, is going to forget children being separated from their parents. Trump is the ultimate example of a dyslexic populist who can pull down the human constructs of others. Dubya and Gore were also both dyslexic and Gore won. Then the supreme court gave it to dubya. GOP always runs dyslexic populists. Democrats the best qualified.

this time around. But then again, he wasn't suppose to run for his seat after getting booted out of the GOP primary. The lying sack of shit.

#refrainshitstain. That's even better.

16. That may explain why Trump chose Nikki Haley

for UN ambassador. I wondered "why her?" since Haley endorsed Rubio in the primaries and Trump only rewards loyalty. The GOP hierarchy likely vouched for her. Now it's becoming clear why Rubio never takes a stand against Trump, even though Trump cruelly taunted "Li'l' Marco" throughout thr primary debates.
