why has the stormy Daniels case gone quiet?

It seems to me there was a tweet from avenatti saying they were trying to threaten him or something like that I can't remember exactly..... And now we haven't heard anymore on it for a little bit, and he's taking up the case of the kids which is great.... But I'm just curious were their threats successful? Or what's happening...

1. If Cohen turns on drumpf, it may be a whole new Stormy Daniels "ball game".

3. I am hoping it just went dormant while the media is covering the Trump kidnappings.

I was wondering the same thing.

4. My guess--the judge said no need to hold the

Hearing that I think was scheduled for today; there was enough info in the briefs to decide. So he has refocused attention on the immigrant children crisis and is representing several clients.

5. With what has been made public...

It appears there isn't enough to make legal claims to threats. More would be needed.

Next would be the aspect of collusion between lawyers. I don't think we have seen enough to make a determination but I imagine a judge would take that extremely seriously. Is that a current part of Avenatti's submission?

Next is her getting out of the agreement. Without proving the previous paragraph I don't see how they have any case.

I believe what Avenatti is doing is going on a fishing expedition. One where he has already brought in a couple of nice catches. Seems he needs to get his hands on others documents in order to have any case at all.

I'm not sure it matters outside of the collusion between lawyers with respect to public consumption and further damage to Trump, at this point. Stormy and Trump have already broken the agreement. Stormy has gone public with the agreement in place.

Avenatti seems to be pretty good at moving forward with very little and getting others to foolishly respond. Good for TV. Often insignificant in court. That said, he has had some luck pushing the courts and his more recent filings have been a lot more professional than the shit show that was his original Stormy filing. He also seems to have great PI's working for him.

It's my understanding this is the only suit Stormy currently has filed. The judge refused to move on it and Avenatti states that he is going to appeal very soon.

6. I think the Cohen raid is the fruit of the Stormy Daniels case.

Avenatti's work there is done; He's helped to massively expand the target list in the Russia scandal. Good enough for me.

9. I still think there is something bigger than a mere affair

She hasn't produced a movie since 2016 - I think they were bankrolling her films.

130,000 was such an odd amount.

10. I think the monetary figure was a measure of the perceived risk to the campaign.

They may have figured that no one could ever take a mere porn star seriously, not reckoning on where we find ourselves in 2018.

11. Or they figured Trump would never make it this far - and they could pay her the last installment

for the 2016 film - after the election.

Once they had the scrutiny of Muller - they couldn't pay her...so Cohen tried to make good...since he knew it could turn bad.

Kind of odd she hasn't made a film since 2016 - she doesn't act anymore - just writes and directs.

Was making films steadily up til then.

12. There's been a couple of brief posts

Over the last 24 hours. Buried in the news of stolen kids.

Judge denies Stormy Daniels request to restart case against Trump, Cohen

(Reuters) - A federal judge in Los Angeles has rejected a request by the adult film actress Stormy Daniels to restart her lawsuit there against U.S. President Donald Trump and his longtime lawyer Michael Cohen.

In an order dated Tuesday, U.S. District Judge James Otero said the amount of media attention in the case was not a sufficient reason to reconsider the 90-day stay he had imposed in April.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, is suing to void a non-disclosure agreement under which Cohen paid her $130,000 not to discuss her alleged relationship with Trump in 2006 and 2007.

“While it is undeniable that plaintiff has a valid interest in the prompt resolution of her claims, plaintiff has not established that she has actually been deterred from speaking,” Otero wrote.
