No, but I'm still waiting to see who are the "thousands of parents" of Korean War Glorfindel Jun 2018 #2
Yes. The war ended in 1953. So the youngest soldiers would have been born by 1935. struggle4progress Jun 2018 #3

dead who have asked tRump to get their remains back. My brother fought in the Korean War. Fortunately, he came home, but my father was born in 1907 and my mother in 1911. I imagine any surviving Korean War parents would be of similar ages or a few years younger, almost certainly more than 100 years old. "Thousands" of them?

That means that, with perhaps a handful of exceptions, the youngest parents of soldiers would have be born by the end of WWI

... "One of the things that really I'm happy is that the soldiers that died in Korea, their remains are going to be coming back home," Trump said during a Fox News interview. "And we have thousands of people that have asked for that — thousands and thousands of people."

"So many people asked when I was on the campaign," Trump added. "I’d say, 'wait a minute, I don’t have any relationship' — but they said, 'when you can, president, we'd love our son to be brought back home' — you know, the remains" ...

The president is correct that there are families still calling for the remains of their relatives who fought and died in the Korean War to be returned to the US. But his claim the parents of soldiers who fought in the war spoke to him in 2016 is suspicious, given that they would've been roughly 100 years old at the time based on when the war occurred. In other words, the vast majority of parents of Korean War veterans are likely dead ...

i think he's saving it to stimulate the evangelical voters this fall, but maybe he'll break it out early just to show everyone how to fandango an end-run around a rational question.

all he has to do is say, "the lying fake news media can never comprehend the responsibilities placed upon me by the Lord," and blammo instant 5-pt jump in the polls as the Christianists fall in line.

Lots of links,
all saying Trump is saying this.

I saw no report from anyone other than Trump.

I'd expect a comment from the Pentagon.
