Top 10 Conservative Idiots #5-3: Let Them Eat Flan Edition

Top 10 Conservative Idiots #5-3: Let Them Eat Flan Edition

Ed. Note - unfortunately so much has happened since we put together this edition. Unfortunately we won't be able to talk about Kennedy's retirement, or the #Janus or travel ban decisions. So we will save that for the next edition!

Welcome back to the Top 10 Conservative Idiots! Sign up today for our exciting rewards program – get great offers and benefits today! Just kidding, I wouldn’t make you do that, what kind of host would I be? We are back everybody! And by the way give it up for our house band for the next couple of editions – Los Tigres Del Norte! How you guys doing? Good? Whew, god, where do I even begin? What a week, and it seems to get weirder and weirder. Normally I wouldn’t talk about stories about Trump for the introduction but since we don’t have anywhere else I really want to squeeze this one in. So you know that famous picture of our world leaders all staring at Trump like they’re a large family trying to put Grandpa in Shady Acres. Can we show that one?

So there’s apparently a back story to this one. Really, knowing this guy as much as I wish I didn’t by now, this doesn’t surprise me in the least. What happened was at the G7 conference, the conversation between Trump and Merkel was so heated. And by the way, you never want to get into a heated conversation with the Germans, those things usually don’t end well. So Trump took 2 Starburst candies out of his pocket and threw them at her. Yes, that’s alleged. Thank you sir. But anyway Trump threw candy at Merkel and said “Don’t say I never gave you anything!”. Which I’m sure he would later call “fake news!!!!”. Really the only thing that would make this creepier and weirder is if it had ice cream truck music playing in the background. Yes, Trump is now creepy candy truck guy. Ah there it is, that’s music to my ears! Ah, enough of the intro. We have a lot of idiocy to get to, but first Bill Maher is back and he destroys his critics in his latest new rule:

In the first slot this week is Conservative Snowflakes (1). So when you’re the world’s most hated administration, you’re bound to get some push back when you go out in public. In the second slot this week is also Conservative Snowflakes, but this time we’re also going to show you how their anger can be misguided, and in some cases it can have potentially damaging side effects. In the second slot is Fox News, who has been turning up the justification 10 fold backing Trump’s ultra extreme policies. In the third slot this week, we’re going to try another new feature and I hope it goes well, and this is a Top 10 Throwback. So the guy who we currently call “president”, Donald J Trump (3), because he is lambasting the Red Hen Restaurant for being a dirty place, but we’re going to turn on the Way Back Machine and tell you about the time when Trump’s Mar-A-Shithole was condemned by Miami health inspectors. In the number 4 slot is also Donald Trump (4) because while he was trying to get Melania to pretend to care about . At number 5 is a new installment of “This Fucking Guy” where we will profile Trump admin lackey and possible serial killer Stephen Miller (5) who we wouldn’t be surprised in the least if he has actual skeletons in his closet. Taking the sixth slot this week is our weekly visit to the Holy Church Of The Top 10 in “Holy Shit” (6) and this week our resident pastor is going to tell you how the Christian right is embracing Satan and backing Trump’s harsh policies. At number 7 is our weekly investigative piece “Top 10 Investigates” and this week we’re going to show you where some of those precious jobs that Trump promised are going, and yeah, we’re looking at you, Harley Davidson! In the number 8 slot is the Heritage Foundation (8) and while they are no friend of liberals, they’ve embraced the Dark Side and gone full batshit Qanon conspiracy theory. Yeah. In the number 9 (NEIN!) slot this week we’ve got a special World Cup edition of People Are Dumb (9) because the World Cup has been bringing the crazy extra hard. And last but certainly not least, in the number 10 slot this week we’ve got the next chapter of our ongoing series “Deep State Diaries” and this is going to be a fun one as we explore the FCC and one individual in particular – the guy who ended Net Neutrality – Ajit Pai! And finally this week we’ve got some live music for you from the Funklords – Chromeo! They have a great new album out called “Head Over Heels” that you should really check out. Enjoy! And as always don’t forget the key!

We’re going to start this entry by doing that thing that movies do and starting from the end first and then showing you how we got to this point. So on Saturday, the representative from Inglewood, California that drives Trump supporters batshit fucking crazy (gee, I wonder why?) – I’m of course talking about Maxine Waters, had some extremely harsh words for the Trump administration and Trump supporters over the weekend. So what was she saying?

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) is calling on her supporters to confront Trump administration officials and staffers in public amid widespread backlash to the President’s zero-tolerance policy on illegal immigration.

“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up,” Waters told a crowd in California over the weekend. “If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

Waters’ call to action comes after two Trump administration officials recently faced backlash in public and, in one case, was denied service at a restaurant.

Last week, protesters confronted Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen while she ate at a Mexican restaurant in Washington, D.C., after she defended the administration’s policy of separating migrant children from their parents. A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said Nielsen was having a work dinner at the restaurant.
http://time.com/5320865/maxine-waters-confront-trump-staffers-family-separation-policy/

And yes, Rep. Waters is definitely not wrong here. So here’s the thing – when you’re the world’s most hated administration since Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party, if you’re going to go out in public, you’d better be prepared to get back as much as you can dish out. So let’s do a rewind now and show you what happened last Thursday.

In September of 2016, in the run-up to the Presidential election, Marco Gutierrez, a founder of the online activist group Latinos for Trump, appeared on MSNBC to discuss what he saw as a looming immigration threat at America’s southern border. “My culture is a very dominant culture,” Gutierrez, who was born in Mexico, said. “And it’s imposing and it’s causing problems. If you don’t do something about it, you’re going to have taco trucks on every corner.” Gutierrez meant this as a warning, a dire vision of what the future would look like were Donald Trump to fail in his Presidential bid. But Hillary Clinton’s supporters quickly reclaimed the idea as a welcome, and appetizing, possibility. At a campaign stop, Clinton said, “I personally think a taco truck on every corner sounds absolutely delicious.”

Last year, C.H.D. Expert, a hospitality-industry analysis firm, identified Mexican restaurants as the second most popular kind of dining establishment in the nation, and estimated that they make up about nine per cent of the half million or so restaurants in the United States—more than the total number of pizzerias. Countless additional restaurants bear signs of Mexico’s culinary influence: you can find fajitas at Chili’s, guacamole and chips at the Cheesecake Factory, churros at Disney World, quesadillas repurposed into burger buns at Applebee’s, margaritas at LongHorn Steakhouse, Baja-style fish tacos at hipster brunch spots, and nachos at every sports arena in America. Even the ubiquitous Caesar salad is Mexican—it was invented at a restaurant in Tijuana. In many respects, you might say, Mexican food is American food.

So let’s delve into the irony, er, coincidence, of members of the Trump administration building a wall in Mexico. I mean come on, this is the administration that ran on a platform of building a wall in Mexico and they’re eating at Mexican restaurants? Seriously? Get the fuck out of here!

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen probably shouldn't have gone to a Mexican restaurant while the government was splitting mostly Latino migrant children from their parents at the southern border. But in all fairness, Stephen Miller did it first.

Two days before Nielsen was publicly shamed for the family separation policy, President Trump's senior policy adviser similarly didn't think twice about eating at a Mexican restaurant, the New York Post reports. While protesters didn't flood the restaurant as they did with Nielsen, one customer did jump in.

"Hey look guys, whoever thought we'd be in a restaurant with a real-life fascist begging [for] money for new cages?” the customer said as Miller walked by, a witness told the Post. Miller didn't respond and stuck around to finish his meal.

After claiming for days that he was powerless to stop the separations, Trump signed an executive order Wednesday that seeks to amend a court ruling and thus allow migrant families to be detained together, rather than separate children from their parents at the border. Most of Trump's associates condemned the separation policy early on, but Miller was its fiercest champion and had a big role in crafting the so-called "zero tolerance" immigration policy. He even apparently enjoyed seeing photos of distraught kids torn from their parents, an outside White House adviser told Vanity Fair.

So now this has started a debate – should members of the world’s most hated administration be allowed to show their faces in public dining among the locals? We personally are on the side of “yes” but let’s serve their enchiladas with a side of “awkward stares” and “800 pound gorilla in the room”. Oh and something tells me they’re not good tippers.

Over the weekend there was a fair bit of argument over the decision by a small restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, not to serve dinner to President Donald Trump's press secretary. It wasn't the first time recently that strong political feelings have spilled into what used to be considered the private sphere. We understand the strength of the feelings, but we don't think the spilling is a healthy development.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders was dining with a few other people at the Red Hen in Lexington Friday night. Several of the restaurant's staff are gay and objected to Sanders' defense of Trump's discriminatory policies against transgender people. The staff also objected to the administration's recent actions leading to the separation of thousands of children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border. Respecting her staff's wishes, the restaurant owner politely asked Sanders to leave, and Sanders politely acceded. She then tweeted about the episode, turning it into a public controversy.

This followed by a few days the very public heckling of two architects of that border policy, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, at Washington restaurants. Last month a Nebraska sociology professor was found guilty of vandalism for spraying false blood at the home of a National Rifle Association lobbyist in Alexandria, Virginia

Yes Trump gives his own stamp of approval to this. So while we won’t get to what Maxine was talking about until the next entry (cue suspense music) there is still a lot of “what the fuck is going on” with this entry and it’s insane. Which begs the question – what do racists order at Mexican restaurants? You know what? We’ll let you answer that question! Tell us in the comments or you can leave one on our Twitter feed at @10Idiots. We may post the best ones in the next edition!

Let’s begin by acknowledging that there are not enough really good Mexican restaurants in downtown D.C. Sure, you can find solid options as you move farther away from the area. But within a mile radius of the White House, most people looking to spend big bucks on food would likely choose another cuisine.

Unless they’re a member of the administration, apparently.

In the past five days, two Trump officials made high-profile visits to pricey Mexican restaurants: White House adviser Stephen Miller and Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen. The timing couldn’t have been more ironic — Miller and Nielsen played a role in advancing and shifting the blame for the administration’s policy of separating migrant children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border, which President Trump ended with an executive order on Wednesday following international outrage.

That outrage manifested in protests during each restaurant visit. The New York Post reported that a fellow diner spotted Miller at Espita Mezcaleria on Sunday and said, “Hey look guys, whoever thought we’d be in a restaurant with a real-life fascist begging [for] money for new cages?”

Two nights later, a number of protesters entered MXDC Cocina Mexicana and chanted “Shame!” and “End family separation!” as Nielsen dined with one other person.

OK we’re almost caught up here. So for this one we need to talk about misguided anger. And I’m not talking about when you’re on a 3:00 AM all night bender and your Uber driver tells you that McDonalds ran out of chicken nuggets kind of misguided anger. I’m talking fucking rage. The kind of rage where you want to put your fist through the nearest wall. So unless you’re living under a rock you know that Sarah Sanders was dining at a restaurant called the Red Hen and got kicked out.

Stephanie Wilkinson was at home Friday evening — nearly 200 miles from the White House — when the choice presented itself.

Her phone rang about 8 p.m. It was the chef at the Red Hen, the tiny farm-to-table restaurant that she co-owned just off Main Street in the small city of Lexington, in the western part of Virginia.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders had just walked in and sat down, the chef informed her.

“He said the staff is a little concerned. What should we do?” Wilkinson told The Washington Post. “I said I’d be down to see if it’s true.”

It seemed unlikely to her that President Trump’s press secretary should be dining at a 26-seat restaurant in rural Virginia. But then, it was unlikely that her entire staff would have misidentified Sanders, who had arrived last to a table of eight booked under her husband’s name.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/local/wp/2018/06/23/why-a-small-town-restaurant-owner-asked-sarah-huckabee-sanders-to-leave-and-would-do-it-again/?utm_term=.090174e7e647

OK here’s where… excuse me a minute… here’s where I love this story, and where misguided anger really does more harm than good. So just because one Red Hen restaurant kicked out Sarah Sanders, doesn’t mean that all restaurants called “Red Hen” should get the same scorn from Trump fans. Really guys this is where it helps to know how to read, and read well.

Several restaurants named the Red Hen said they were harassed over the weekend after press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked on Friday to leave an unrelated Lexington, Virginia, eatery of the same name.

Stephanie Wilkinson, who owns the restaurant where Sanders tried to dine, told The Washington Post that she asked the press secretary to leave because several of her staffers are gay and were concerned about servingSanders, who has defended an administration that has supported anti-LGBTQ policies.

The incident has sparked backlash, and hundreds of people have contacted the restaurant or posted on its social media pages to express their feelings.

Though Sanders’ tweet about the incident specified that the restaurant she had visited is in Lexington, President Donald Trump added to the confusion on Monday when he slammed the Red Hen on Twitter without identifying which Red Hen restaurant he was referring to.

Red Hen is not a chain restaurant, and at least three unaffiliated restaurants with the same name have been subject to critical comments on their social media and Yelp pages, as well as harassing calls.

Michael Friedman, a co-owner of the Red Hen in Washington, D.C., told The Washingtonian that his restaurant has received mistaken calls, emails, Yelp reviews and even death threats because of the confusion. He added that someone egged the restaurant over the weekend.

The D.C. restaurant posted on Facebook to clarify that Sanders did not try to eat at its establishment on Friday.

That is a good question there, Mr. Pool – the Trump fans’ misguided anger is, well, extremely comical at best, and it leads to this. Apparently they do prefer mean comments – and a lot of them are mean. I mean the Yelp moderators are going to be working overtime this weekend.

Typically, a hot restaurant will earn a couple thousand reviews on Yelp. As of mid-morning Monday, The Red Hen in Lexington, VA has 15,000.

Conservative political activists, including Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, are calling on supporters to flood the restaurant’s Yelp page with negative reviews after it refused service to White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders this weekend.

“This is the market at work,” wrote Kirk in a tweet. “Don’t force someone to serve another person, but if you refuse, you must accept the consequences.”

Kirk wasn’t the only one taking to social media to bash the small business. Donald Trump, on Monday morning, took aim at the restaurant, saying (among other things) that it needed a paint job. (Liberal activists quickly announced they planned a fundraiser to cover those costs. At least one other fundraiser for the restaurant is already trending on GoFundMe.)

Yelp, in a statement on the Red Hen page, says it is actively working to remove reviews, both positive and negative, that appear to be motivated by news coverage, rather than actual experience with the restaurant.
http://fortune.com/2018/06/25/yelp-red-hen-reviews-sarah-huckabee-sanders/

You know guys, before you take your misguided anger out on a restaurant and their Yelp reviews page, you might want to learn that Yelp deletes reviews if you didn’t actually go there! But the Lexington and DC Red Hens weren’t the only ones who got hit by the Trumplodytes this weekend.

Shelley Deproto, who has owned the restaurant (in Old Saybrook, CT) for five years picked up the phone and “They said, ‘You’re done, and we’re coming to get you’. She soon realized the callers didn’t care. “You calmly and politely explain there’s no affiliation, but they’re so wound up it doesn’t matter what you say,” she said. “They’re ready to go. They say what they were going to say, which is usually something incredibly insulting and threatening.”

Soon, the Facebook pages and Instagram accounts of the Old Saybrook Red Hen were flooded with vitriol. Deproto took them down. The restaurant’s online reservation system was flooded with fake bookings for large parties. A “Nancy Reagan” and a “Sarah Sanders” took out reservations. Callers placed large, expensive takeout orders for 100 people that Deproto was not naive enough to fill.

She changed the voicemail greeting to stress her restaurant was in Connecticut. But the calls kept coming, mostly from area codes in North Carolina, Colorado and Texas, she said, a new snarling voice every 15 seconds. “As fast as I could delete the messages, we’d get another one.”

She’s now working with Yelp and TripAdvisor to expunge the scores of poor reviews left by people who have never set foot in Connecticut. She has not ruled out a name change.

And there’s more! I mean really guys if you get caught up in the heat of the moment, at least know who it is you’re attacking! And really, stop doing this. Seriously. You guys are fucking insane!

A New Jersey restaurant named The Red Hen is being bombarded with threats and abuse by Trump supporters who are confusing it with the Virginia restaurant of the same name that refused to serve White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

NJ.com reports that the Red Hen, based in the New Jersey town of Swedesboro, has been getting nonstop angry phone calls from Trump supporters ever since Sanders on Saturday revealed that the Virginia-based restaurant also called the Red Hen had asked her to leave because it disagreed with her politics.

“It was off the chart,” restaurant manager Elizabeth Pope told NJ.com. “Then the hostess comes to me and says, ‘people are calling and yelling and swearing.'”

What’s even more disturbing, said Pope, is that Trump-backing internet trolls have crushed her restaurant’s ratings since the start of the weekend — and have single-handedly dropped it by a full star on Yelp.

To counteract the Trump fans’ misguided rage, the Red Hen sent out an official statement on its Facebook page explaining that it was not the same restaurant that booted Sanders.

OK there, we’re all caught up. So now you’re the most hated leader in the world and what do you do when your press secretary gets kicked out of a public place? Do that thing you always do and resort to your angry 3:00 AM toilet twitter rampages! So of course there’s a lot of misguided anger coming from conservatives and mainly Trump fans over the Red Hen’s decision over the weekend. So apparently Trump has reduced the presidency to the status of being a professional Yelp reviewer.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Monday trash-talked a Virginia restaurant that asked his press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, to leave because she worked for his administration.

Trump, in a Monday morning tweet, said that The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia “should focus more on cleaning its filthy canopies, doors and windows (badly needs a paint job) rather than refusing to serve a fine person like Sarah Huckabee Sanders.”

“I always had a rule, if a restaurant is dirty on the outside, it is dirty on the inside!” added Trump, an admitted germophobe, who has said he prefers eating at fast food chains rather than independent eateries because he trusts them more.

Images of the restaurant, a three-hour drive from Washington, online appear to show no evidence of serious disrepair, with clean-looking green awnings and white paint on the doors and trim.

The 10-year-old restaurant in downtown Lexington has a farm-to-table menu, with sample offerings including steak tartare ($9), chanterelle and scape risotto ($24) and peach/blackberry shortcake ($9).

Well I say give it a week, sir, then we will see if people still care or not. Now here’s where we’re going to throw up the Top 10 Wayback Machine. If you remember just last year (see Top 10 # 2-27 ) Mar-A-Shithole was hit with some massive health code violations. Let’s go through those again!

Unsafe seafood. Insufficiently refrigerated meats. Rusty shelving. Cooks without hairnets.

Reports show Florida health inspectors cited President Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort with 15 violations in late January, days before the U.S. leader hosted Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for a diplomatic visit.

Still, the state inspectors allowed the luxury resort's main restaurant and beach club grill to remain open as staff scrambled to make several immediate corrections.

Among the "high priority" problems described as "potentially hazardous" were faulty fridges with meats stored well above the required 41 degrees Fahrenheit. For example, in the restaurant's walk-in cooler, the duck and beef were measured at 50 degrees, while a ham was at 57 degrees.

Other issues included smoked salmon being served without undergoing "proper parasite destruction" and a hand washing sink for employees with water that was not hot enough.

Stephen Lawson, spokesman for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, said the violations were the result of a routine inspection and not prompted by any consumer complaints or food-borne illnesses.
http://www.latimes.com/nation/nationnow/la-na-trump-mar-a-lago-health-violations-20170413-story.html

You think that’s bad? It gets worse! So much worse! And you know this is one of those times when you should probably Google before shooting your mouth off. Because doing this thing called “fact checking” will save us all! Oh wait, facts are fake news, I forgot!

President Donald Trump lashed out Monday at a Virginia restaurant that refused to serve his press secretary, saying it is "filthy" and "badly needs a paint job" ...

It was not immediately not clear how the president evaluated the restaurant's "canopies, doors and windows," and the White House did not respond CNBC's inquiry about the matter.

In February, the Virginia Department of Health found no violations at the property. Inspectors gave the restaurant, which claims to be Lexington's first farm-to-table eatery, its highest possible rating ...

The Associated Press found the president's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida was cited 78 times over three years for health code violations including cooking staff not washing their hands and the “accumulation of black/green mold-like substance” on an ice machine ...

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/25/trump-slams-virginia-restaurant-for-being-filthy-but-inspectors-fou.html

So yeah while this whole thing was a completely unnecessary shit show and the definition of “peak snowflake” (and don’t get me started on who is the bigger snowflake here), this really shows that Trump just flat out doesn’t care.

After White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave The Red Hen, a restaurant in rural Virginia, it was only a matter of time before her boss stepped in to comment on the incident. And when he did, he did so not just as the president, but as someone who has strong opinions about restaurants. President Trump tweeted about The Red Hen, but many of the responses to his tweet seem to be focusing on the restaurants at his own properties — specifically the health and safety-challenged ones at his Mar-A-Lago complex.

"The Red Hen Restaurant should focus more on cleaning its filthy canopies, doors and windows (badly needs a paint job) rather than refusing to serve a fine person like Sarah Huckabee Sanders," Trump tweeted on Monday morning. "I always had a rule, if a restaurant is dirty on the outside, it is dirty on the inside!"

Among the responses were mentions of numerous articles covering the health and safety violations at an establishment where Trump is known to dine frequently: the Mar-a-Lago restaurants. In April 2017, Fox News reported that health inspectors in Florida had noted 15 violations on the resort's inspection, including meat and seafood not stored or prepared safely, shelves with rust, and cooks not wearing hairnets.

So when you’re the world’s most hated administration, and you’re in a hole, you know the first thing to do is to stop digging. Especially when we’re 523 days into this nightmare and the entirety of this whole shit show can be summed up in literally two phrases. And both center around the same thing – the kidnapping and torture of migrant children. Yes, the US is committing war crimes here, and we’re watching in horror. But not Fox News. In fact they’re probably laughing their asses off.

First they came for immigrants, and let the record show, Corey Lewandowski said, "womp womp."

Over the last few weeks, as stories of families being ripped apart and children locked in cages have proliferated, one thing has become very clear: If you are ever tempted to think we've reached the limits of cruelty from the Trump administration and its allies, think again. A report in The Wall Street Journal revealed that the Department of Homeland Security has separated a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome from her mother and brother. Her father is a legal US resident, but she's been sent alone to a detention facility in McAllen, Texas. Confronted with this latest outrage, former Trump campaign manager Lewandowski reacted on Fox News Tuesday by waving off the issue and cracking his little joke.
Asked on Wednesday if he wanted to apologize, Lewandowski declined and claimed his "womp womp" was intended to "mock" the Democratic strategist who raised the issue of the girl's plight in the first place.

Lewandowski's "joke" is just a highly visible edge of a much broader, terrifying, pattern. His callous indifference here is not a personality quirk or accident, but a necessary feature for a regime that seeks to dehumanize and destroy in their pursuit of a white nationalist agenda. It's hopefully difficult to inspire the thousands of men and women who work for the government and in the private prison industry or the government to take babies and children away from their parents while feeling good about themselves. What kind of person can lie to a mother that they are taking their child away for a bath, then never bring them back, and still go home and feel good about their lives at the end of the day?
https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/20/opinions/lewandowski-womp-womp-is-terrifying-perry-opinion/

Which begs the question – who put the womp in the womp womp? Seriously they’re talking like the adults talked to Peanuts characters. So now we got that one out of the way. Which brings me to our next story. Yeah, get your boos out now because we’re going to talk about… Melania’s jacket. You all know it, so let’s get it out of the way!

It was the jacket that launched a thousand tweets. Boarding Air Force One on her way back from visiting a Texas detention center where unaccompanied children at the center of the current immigration debate are housed, first lady Melania Trump wore a jacket that had “I really don’t care, do u?” emblazoned on the back. Many speculated, as they have of Trump’s fashion choices in the past, whether the jacket was meant to send a subliminal message.

Could it have been a coded allusion to her contempt for her husband? Was it, as the president himself claimed on Twitter, an attempt to tell off the media?

My sense is that it was neither and that it wasn’t saying anything else, either. More likely, it was, as her spokeswoman claimed, just a jacket, but that makes it all the more questionable.

Anyone who closely followed the first lady’s border visit Thursday would have noticed that Trump does appear to care about the fate of the children she was visiting. It was not a strictly congratulatory trip. The questions Trump asked indicated genuine concern, not indifference, such as how often the children were permitted to call their parents.

Trump’s statement this week urging the administration to govern “with heart,” an uncharacteristic foray into the policy sandbox, sent the same message. And that was on top of the lobbying Trump reportedly did behind the scenes to encourage her husband to end the practice of separating parents from their children at the border.

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Yes you should feel bad for this one, Melania but guess what? Her psychopathic husband isn’t helping things. This isn’t so much an explanation as to why Melania did what she did, but this was more rubbing salt in the wound, because that’s what a psychopath does.

President Trump said on Thursday that first lady Melania Trump's eye-catching jacket with the words “I really don’t care. Do U?" that she before and after a trip to Texas to visit with migrant children, was a reference to the news media.

"I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?” written on the back of Melania’s jacket, refers to the Fake News Media," the president said in a tweet.

The first lady's spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, however, had earlier downplayed the fashion choice, saying it was "just a jacket."

The Daily Mail first reported on Thursday that Melania Trump was photographed wearing the Zara jacket while boarding a plane to visit immigrant children held in detention centers. The visit came the day after President Trump signed an executive order undoing his own policy of separating families who cross the border illegally.

Critics were quick to attack the first lady's fashion choice, calling it insensitive.

Democratic Rep. Dina Titus tweeted out her own version of the jacket by wearing a sign attached to her back, reading "I Care."

Yes they should definitely feel bad about this, but this is the Trump administration here – when have they ever experienced any sort of remorse for anything? And they apologize for nothing! In fact Trump’s explanation made it worse!

Top 10 Investigates: Trump’s Jobs Claims
[br]
[br]

It’s time to investigate beyond the headlines. This is Top 10 Investigates.

This week we’re actually going to investigate, who else, but Donald J. Trump? And particularly his attacks on one corporation that used to be his best friend forever, Harley Davidson. So what happened that the two previously best friends decided to suddenly part ways? Well there are many claims that can be made from both sides. No really, it’s just Trump.

President Trump lashed out at one of his favorite American manufacturers on Tuesday, criticizing Harley-Davidson over its plans to move some of its motorcycle production abroad and threatening it with steep punitive taxes.

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, the president accused the Wisconsin-based company of surrendering in Mr. Trump’s trade war with Europe and said the firm would lose its “aura” if it produced bikes overseas.

“If they move, watch, it will be the beginning of the end — they surrendered, they quit!” he wrote. “The Aura will be gone and they will be taxed like never before!”

The attack came a day after Harley-Davidson announced that it would move some of its production abroad in response to stiff retaliatory tariffs that the European Union imposed in response to Mr. Trump’s trade measures. Rather than raise prices to cover the new 31 percent tariff on bikes it exports to the European Union, Harley said it would shift some of its production to overseas facilities to avoid the tariffs.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/26/business/trump-harley-davidson-tariffs.html

So what happened that these two decided to suddenly part ways? And what would happen if one of America’s biggest manufacturers were to suddenly go out of business or lay off potentially thousands of employees? There are many questions and this will have a long lasting effect on America’s economy.

WASHINGTON/CHICAGO (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Harley-Davidson Inc with higher taxes on Tuesday and said the motorcycle maker, which he previously hailed as a model of American manufacturing, would suffer from a public backlash if it went ahead with a plan to move production for European customers overseas.

Trump’s attack, the latest in a series of criticisms of U.S. companies, was an about-face for the president, who hosted company officials and gleaming Harley-Davidson bikes on the White House lawn shortly after his inauguration.

“A Harley-Davidson should never be built in another country-never! Their employees and customers are already very angry at them,” Trump said on Twitter, without providing any evidence. “If they move, watch, it will be the beginning of the end - they surrendered, they quit! The Aura will be gone and they will be taxed like never before!” Trump said.

It was unclear what taxes Trump was referring to, and why the company might have to pay them, since it will maintain production in the United States for U.S. customers. The White House did not respond to a request for comment on Trump’s tweet.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-harley-davidson-tariffs/trump-revs-up-attacks-on-harley-davidson-over-production-move-idUSKBN1JM1AF

And if there’s one group that we’ve learned that you don’t piss off over the years, it’s America’s biker gangs. Because they are armed, and they are dangerous. Have you seen the show Sons Of Anarchy? They can do some pretty horrible things. But none as horrible as what Trump is doing that could potentially put thousands out of work.

Production of Harley-Davidson motorcycles sold in Europe will move from U.S. factories to facilities overseas, the Milwaukee-based company announced Monday, a consequence of the retaliatory tariffs the EU is imposing on American exports in an escalating trade war with the Trump administration.

President Trump has used the iconic American motorcycle maker as an example of a U.S. business harmed by trade barriers in other countries, but Harley had warned that tariffs could negatively impact its sales.

The European Union on Friday began rolling out tariffs on American imports including bourbon, peanut butter and orange juice. The EU tariffs on $3.4 billion worth of U.S. products are retaliation for duties the Trump administration is imposing on European steel and aluminum.

The company said in a regulatory filing Monday that EU tariffs on its motorcycles exported from the U.S. jumped between 6 percent and 31 percent, adding about $2,200 per average motorcycle exported from the U.S. to the EU.

That’s true, he probably doesn’t . After all, this is the guy who, not even a few days ago, was bragging about how he was the definition of what an elitist is.

Yes, he actually bragged about how he was the richer guy than they were. Which is why he really doesn’t care about your common worker. But then of course Trump slams his favorite company after they enact policies based on his business plan.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday criticized Harley-Davidson Inc (HOG.N) after the company said it would move U.S. production of motorcycles for European Union customers overseas to avoid retaliatory tariffs.

“Surprised that Harley-Davidson, of all companies, would be the first to wave the White Flag. I fought hard for them and ultimately they will not pay tariffs selling into the E.U.,” Trump said in a post on Twitter.

“Taxes just a Harley excuse - be patient!” he added

There you have it, a president so unstable he attacks his own companies. At this rate there might not be any business left. That’s it this week for Top 10 Investigates. Good day.

Holy Shit
[br]
[br]

Gather around my fair brothers and sisters! It’s time to take a seat in the pew and pass the collection plate, for the Holy Church Of The Top 10 has convened and it’s time to remind you that the holiest among us are the most full of:

Welcome everybody, please be seated! Now, my fair congregation! How…. I mean just how… do you justify the horrifying atrocities being committed at the border? You can’t. You simply cannot justify this, for it is among the most egregious of SINS! The only way you could justify this atrocity is if your heart was as dark as the DEVIL himself! In fact if the good LAWRD JAYSUS were to come down today, he would be smiting those preaching in his name.

Extremist right-wing pastor Kevin Swanson is not overly concerned about the Trump administration’s policy of separating children from their parents who cross the border illegally, mocking Christians leaders who have spoken out against the policy, which he insists is such “a minor issue” that it is akin to getting upset that “somebody is breaking into the crack house.”

On his “Generations” radio program today, Swanson said that America is a debauched and degenerate nation that is due to receive God’s judgment, so getting worked up about an issue like family separation is rather pointless.

“It’s a little bit like America is a crack house and somebody is breaking into the crack house,” he said. “I have a hard time being bothered by that, given that America is so messed up with all of its systems.”

“They’re taking issue with Trump on these minor issues when, indeed, we’ve got a crack house here,” Swanson added. “We’ve got people killing their babies with abortifacients and abortion right and left, we have a welfare system that is redistributing 40-50 percent of the wealth every year and creating a welfare-dependent immigration base that’s inevitably going to vote Democratic year after year after year and year. We’ve got a mess on our hands. We’re violating the Seventh Commandment, we’re violating the Sixth Commandment, we’re violating the Eighth Commandment and these guys are all up in arms over what happens to some immigrants down in Phoenix, Arizona.”

“This nation is subjecting itself to the judgment of Almighty God because of its embracing of sodomy and transgenderism and abortion and the slaughter of hundreds of millions of babies,” he said, “and they’ll start making a big, big, big deal out of the tiny, tiny issues.”
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/kevin-swanson-outrage-over-family-separation-is-like-getting-upset-that-somebody-is-breaking-into-the-crack-house/

I’m just going to play that clip every time Kevin Swanson says something. But there are DAYMONZ among us particularly those ultra far right wing preachers who are justifying this horrible atrocity being committed at the border, and it is a SIN!!!! For it says in our good book that JAYSUS wants families to stick together, and unlike these pastors, I can name the chapter and verse in our book where it says that! Now we might need some music for this next one. Can we get that?

Anti-choice/anti-LGBTQ Religious Right activist Dave Daubenmire had a bit of a meltdown on his “Pass The Salt Live” webcast this morning over criticism that the Trump administration’s policy of separating children from their parents who attempt to cross the southern border illegally is unchristian.

Daubenmire fumed that liberals, who he insists are not Christians, are misusing the Bible to paint conservative Christians as heartless and uncaring for supporting the family separation policy. The Bible’s commands to care for the poor are directed at individuals, not the government, he said, which means that there is nothing unbiblical about separating children from their parents.

“If you really want to help the people on the border, go get them and bring them into your house,” Daubenmire bellowed. “But don’t make me do it! That’s between me and the Lord … I’m sure as H-E-L-L not going to make sure that the government takes care of them. I thought there was a separation between the church and the state? I thought morality was personal? Yet the government is telling the church how the church should behave!”

“They murder babies, the light up the White House with rainbow colors and then tell us how we’re supposed to treat children?” he screamed. “It’s the devil. It’s the stinking devil! Deception! I’m ticked off!”

Later in the webcast, one of the participants asserted that those who are crossing the border are not even real families but are “gang members” are are trying to sneak into the country, while pastor Dale Sochia of King Jesus Ministries on Louisiana misrepresented a statement from a border patrol agent to claim that undocumented parents are giving their underage daughters birth control and Plan B pills so that they can “use their children as sex to pay to get them into America.”

“These parents are wicked,” Sochia said.
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/dave-daubenmire-melts-down-over-criticism-of-trumps-family-separation-policy/

No, Dave, the only one who’s wicked is you!!! But apparently it gets crazier – so much crazier my fair congregation! For apparently did you know you’re abusing your child by escaping extreme corruption and searching for a better life? And that these children are being used to play politics? Neither did we!

On his “Focal Point” radio program yesterday, the American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer and his producer, Jeff Reed, defended the Trump administration’s policy of separating children from their parents when they cross the southern border on the grounds that the parents are committing “child abuse” by bringing their children into the country illegally in the first place.

“I don’t want to hear any of this stuff about the inhumane treatment of children on the border,” Fischer declared, arguing that separating families is no different than placing children in foster care if their parents are put in prison, insisting that requiring children to be incarcerated along with their parents would be truly inhumane.

“You might even be able to make the case that any adult or parent that forced their children on a march across the desert, putting themselves at risk to a lot of dangers—thirst and attacks and all that—just to go break some other country’s law, wouldn’t that be a form of child abuse?” Reed postulated. “If an American parent did that, we’d probably be taking the child away.”

Fischer completely agreed, insisting that Democrats “are just using these children” to distract Americans from the Inspector General’s report on the FBI’s handling of its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails.

“They don’t care about these children,” Fischer said. “They don’t have compassion for these children. These children, to them, are simply useful tools to demonize Donald Trump, to demonize you and me as conservatives who believe in the rule of law, and to distract the American public from the scandal of what the Inspector General revealed about the Department of Justice.”
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/jeff-reed-undocumented-immigrants-are-committing-a-form-of-child-abuse-by-bringing-their-children-to-america/

Yes I think even JAYSUS is speechless at this one! By the way, how great is our Top 10 gospel choir everybody? Let’s give it up for them! But apparently if you so much DARE to criticize these most majestic of men, these ultra far right pastors, you might as well be persecuting them!

We noted on Wednesday that Robert Jeffress, one of President Trump’s earliest and most adoring Religious Right supporters, had been criticized by a Dallas columnist and the city’s Christian mayor for billboards put up by his First Baptist Church declaring “America is a Christian Nation.” After receiving complaints, the company that owned the billboards decided to take down the ads, while another company offered to replace the original two billboards with 20 touting the church’s message.

The story was irresistible to Fox News’ Todd Starnes, who has often promoted stories of alleged anti-Christian persecution. In his email newsletter on Thursday, Starnes highlighted a story he posted earlier in the week slamming the mayor for being offended by the church’s “patriotic billboard.”

In Starnes’ telling, the people who were unhappy with the divisive message on the billboard became “angry anti-Christian radicals.” And Jeffress displayed the Religious Right’s time-honored practice of equating criticism with persecution:

It should greatly concern people of any faith when those in the press or government proactively seek to defeat, censor or silence any religious message with which they disagree,” Jeffress said. “We don’t believe Dallas city officials have any right to directly or indirectly be involved in censoring a church’s message.
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/todd-starnes-robert-jeffress-equate-criticism-with-persecution/

So there you have it. By having our own church which criticizes their church, we might as well be persecuting them! Mass has ended, may you go in peace! That’s it this week for:

Stephen Miller
[br]
[br]

It’s time for a new edition of:

This week’s “This Fucking Guy” is a Trump administration lackey and a guy who we wouldn’t be surprised in the least if he has actual skeletons in his closet, Stephen Miller. Now Stephen Miller is probably the least identifiable man in the Trump administration, but he’s certainly the whitest guy in the Trump administration. In fact he’s so proud of being white that he pretty much wears it on his sleeves. Let’s get into this further.

Nearly ever present by the President's side, perhaps no one is more responsible for the Trump agenda than Stephen Miller.

President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order aimed at keeping families together at the border, but not before several days of public outcry over the administration's "zero-tolerance" immigration policy that had resulted in thousands of undocumented children separated from their families at the border.

Some of the Trump administration's most controversial and chaos-inducing policies can be traced back to Miller, including the travel ban and the firing of former FBI director James Comey.
And the latest immigration debacle is no different.

Originally from California, the 32-year-old senior Trump adviser has been part of the Trump team since January 2016, where he acted as Trump's warm-up act during the primary and general 2016 election.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/23/politics/stephen-miller-immigration-family-separation/index.html

So if we were to compare him to TV and movie characters, Stephen Miller is equal parts Hannibal Lecter and Buster Bluth from Arrested Development. I could totally see him screaming “MOTHER!!!!” the way that Tony Hale does. So why is Stephen Miller so hateful? You know there’s nothing sadder than a closet self loather.

Until now, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner were the main targets of ire for the overwhelmingly liberal American-Jewish community, horrified that members of its own tribe could have contributed to the policies and tone of the Trump White House.

But this past week marked a turning point: Jewish fury is now aimed squarely at another senior Trump official from the tribe: Stephen Miller, the staunchest advocate of the widely despised family separation policy at the southern border.

He has overtaken Jared and Ivanka for inspiring rage among American Jews opposed to the president’s policies and the language he has used to defend them – including use of the word “infest” to describe migration, a term associated with Nazi Germany.

Read more: https://forward.com/news/403903/why-stephen-miller-is-the-most-hated-jew-in-america-by-fellow-jews/

Holy shit! He actually used the word “infest”. It doesn’t get much lower than that. But that’s actually relatively tame compared to some of the stuff he’s done. And I mean after all, after all the horrible shit he’s said and done about Mexicans and Mexico, is it really the worst thing he has said lately? Is it?

Nearly ever present by the President’s side, perhaps no one is more responsible for the Trump agenda than Stephen Miller.

President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order aimed at keeping families together at the border, but not before several days of public outcry over the administration’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy that had resulted in thousands of undocumented children separated from their families at the border.

During the campaign, Miller would consistently address the crowds at Trump rallies before the then-candidate would take the stage.

“Everybody who stands against Donald Trump are the people who’ve been running this country into the ground,” Miller said at one campaign rally in Texas. “Everything that is wrong with this country today, the people opposing Donald J. Trump are responsible for.”
https://wtvr.com/2018/06/24/stephen-miller-is-the-man-behind-trumps-immigration-policy/

I’m sure he has probably said that at some point. Now let’s get into the absurdity of what happened last week when he tried to eat out with another Trump staff member.

White House senior adviser Stephen Miller was called a fascist earlier this week while dining at a Mexican restaurant in Washington, D.C., according to the New York Post.

The encounter took place on Sunday at Espita Mezcaleria. The Post reports that a patron of the restaurant called out Miller — an immigration hard-liner — over the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy that separates migrant families caught crossing the border illegally.

“Hey look guys, whoever thought we’d be in a restaurant with a real-life fascist begging [for] money for new cages?” a customer said to Miller, according to the Post.

Miller reportedly did not respond to the hecklers.

The incident occurred just a few days before activists similarly interrupted Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen's dinner at a Mexican restaurant, resulting in her leaving the restaurant.

The group repeatedly yelled “shame” at Nielsen and “End Texas concentration camps.”
http://thehill.com/homenews/news/393403-stephen-miller-called-fascist-by-protester-at-mexican-restaurant

Yes, ay caramba indeed, Bart! So what’s the underlying hypocrisy in all of this? Well it’s just that – underlying hypocrisy. I mean if you’re in the news for talking shit about Mexico, maybe don’t eat at a Mexican restaurant! You might as well just make them say “let them eat flan”!

There you have it, that’s the utter hypocrisy of this administration in a nutshell. That’s Stephen Miller, this week’s:

[div style="padding: 20px; background-color: #ffffff; border-radius: 10px; box-shadow: 0px 2px 4px 1px #aaa;"][div style="font-family: arial, helvetica; font-weight: bold; border-bottom: 1px dotted #999; padding-bottom: 8px;"]
Conservative Calls For Civility
[br]
[br]

So we’ve already talked in this edition about how the Trump fans see themselves after Maxine Waters called for a peaceful use of your first amendment right to protest against this out of control fascist administration. Well, this sparked a dialogue between liberal and conservative groups on all social media feeds about what it means to be civil. Let’s go do a deep dive on that. In fact let’s start with an instance of this exact same thing happening 6 years ago. Remember when it was a much simpler time? I miss those times.

Joe the Plumber, meet Chris the Baker.

The Republican ticket has embraced a new small-business hero. On Wednesday, the owner of a bakery who last week turned away Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. introduced Representative Paul D. Ryan at a rally in this city where President Obama uttered his “You didn’t build that” remark.

Chris McMurray, the owner of Crumb and Get It Cookie Company with his wife, told a crowd at another small business, a hardware store, “We are gathered here today to send a message to the Obama-Biden team that we did build it.’’

Mr. McMurray said the Biden campaign approached him to ask if the vice president could drop by his cookie shop while campaigning, and he replied, “Nothing personal, but I just happened to disagree with the president and the vice president on a few things.”
https://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/08/22/va-baker-is-in-the-spotlight-at-ryan-rally/?mtrref=t.co&gwh=C301A4BD9BDBA48705E1597E8461DC02&gwt=pay

Yeah so remember Joe The Plumber, and Chris the Baker, and Kim Davis, and Sarah Palin and all the other jackasses that the GOP championed because they stood up to the evil intolerant, anti American left wing loonies? I mean remember that? Yeah. These are the same people calling for civility. Such fine examples of tolerance like this.

Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist radio host responsible for Infowars, encouraged listeners who wanted to “dedicate something to your country” to do secret video surveillance outside the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Virginia because Jones suspected that “the left” would orchestrate a “false flag” attack on the restaurant.

The owner of the Red Hen, a small farm-to-table restaurant in the western part of Virginia, politely asked White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family to leave her restaurant last weekend. Since then, Sanders and President Trump have both tweeted about the incident and the restaurant (like others that share the same name) has been receiving harassment and death threats from right-wing trolls in what Cristina López at Media Matters accurately described as “Pizzagate-style targeted harassment.”

Today on Infowars, Jones joined in and encouraged his listeners to further harass the restaurant.

“If somebody smart—if you want to dedicate something to your country, you need to go sit out in front. I wish I had the money. I’d put [private investigators]—if I had billions of dollars, I would, every day, have teams of P.I.s all over the country. I’d say, ‘Get on this site,’ and I would have P.I.s just watch the Red Hen, show when somebody firebombs it, God forbid, or somebody knocks the windows out, or somebody paints a swastika on the door, we can follow them to their house and you know who they’re going to be, don’t you?” Jones said.
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/alex-jones-encourages-secret-surveillance-of-restaurant-that-asked-sarah-sanders-to-leave/

Yeah because nothing says “tolerance” and “civility” like some good old fashioned illegal surveillance and stalking! Let’s get real here. There’s also calls for civility like this! I mean did you know we’re this close to a civil war? I didn’t!

End Times broadcaster Rick Wiles used his “TruNews” program on Friday to warn his viewers that liberals may begin to assassinate Republican candidates before the 2018 midterm elections in preparation for civil war.

“When they get rid of Donald Trump, they are going to crush the people who voted for him,” Wiles said. “Your country is being taken away from you.”

“This is a revolution,” he added. “It is a communist/Marxist/socialist/leftist revolution and it has the potential to turn bloody. I would say that we need to be prepared for this fall. Be prepared. I pray to God that the leftists/Marxists/socialists/communists do not assassinate Republican candidates for the House and Senate and governor and other positions. But be prepared that as we go in to October, that they will carry out targeted killings of Republicans.”

“If that happens, then you know that a violent revolution has now begun,” he warned, adding that if Democrats win control of Congress in the midterms, “this country is going to be ripped to pieces.”

“We’re that close to civil war,” Wiles said. “We’re that close to violent, bloody revolution in this country.”
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/rick-wiles-leftists-will-carry-out-targeted-killings-of-republicans-in-preparation-for-civil-war/

Yeah so apparently we’re “that close to civil war”. And let’s not forget the right wing’s most recent celebrity – this douchebag who started heckling and booing Jim Acosta for simply doing his job.

CNN reporter Jim Acosta was heckled at a Donald Trump rally and urged to “go home” by the US president’s supporters.

Members of the crowd shouted “CNN sucks” and “Fake News Jim” as people waited for the rally to start in Columbia, South Carolina.

A woman reportedly confronted Mr Acosta – CNN’s chief White House correspondent – near his seat in the press area and then as he stood in front of the cameras.

Reporters at Mr Trump’s rally in support of South Carolina governor Henry McMaster documented the crowd’s taunting of the journalist.

“Sitting next to Acosta is the ... ahem ... ‘best’ seat in the house. Frequent chanting of ‘CNN sucks’, ’Go home, Jim’, after which many have then asked for selfies and autographs,” said Associated Press reporter Meg Kinnard.

So there you have it, those are just some of the ways the right wing is calling for “civility”. But none hold a candle to what James Woods is proposing.

Actor James Woods Urges Conservatives to 'Get Armed' for Life-or-Death Battle With Liberals

"I urge you all to a) get armed, and b) vote. Your life literally depends on it."

Actor James Woods on Monday urged conservatives to "get armed" in preparation for "inevitable violence" by liberals, adding, "Your life literally depends on it."

He also called on his more than 1.5 million followers to vote.

People Are Dumb
[br]
[br]

Hit it!

We need something much lighter to go out on. So of course by now you know that people are people and people are dumb. This week we’re going to do something a bit different. You know the World Cup is going on in Russia the entire month of June and spilling out into July. So we’re going to take this time to do a special World Cup edition of People Are Dumb. And I’m going to start with this story straight out of Russia where Burger King… well let’s just say they have some ‘splainin to do!

Burger King is under fire for an ad that encourages women to have sex for money and free burgers.

The advertisement promised Russian women a lifetime of free sandwiches and a $47,000 cash prize if they get pregnant with the child of a World Cup Soccer player. The campaign was launched on the Russian social media outlet VK.

The ad was meant for Russian "girls who manage to get the best football genes" and "lay down the success of the Russian national football team."

Burger King pulled the advertisement after receiving social media backlash.

"It is a very stupid campaign … from the hellish people of the fast-food chain," Russian State Duma leader Vitaly Milonov told reporters. &quot They are) trying to attract attention, not by improving the quality, but through silly offers."

Yes. Where is your god now? Speaking of which, if you go to the World Cup maybe don’t buy the bad merchandise being circulated, because you may be hauled off for questioning by the Russian police, and nobody wants that.

Argentinian police say they've recovered various narcotics and thousands in cash hidden inside replica World Cup trophies.

UPI reports Buenos Aires Security Minister Cristian Ritondo tweeted photos showing the trophies containing marijuana, cocaine, crack-cocaine and more than $14,000.

Officials have arrested four men and two women in connection with the crime. Two firearms and two vehicles were also seized.

OK so we couldn’t do an all World Cup edition, but there’s plenty of stupidity back home in the States and we’re going to where else but Florida’s next door neighbors Georgia. You know I’ve been to a lot of drive thrus in my life, I’ve never got a side of this with any of my cheeseburgers!

In the several weeks that Cherokee County investigators were undercover at an area Wendy’s location for possible drug activity, narcotics task force commander Phil Price said employees never offered to sell them a hamburger.

“I can tell you we never bought any food there,” Price told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday.

Instead, he said nearly half the staff was dealing methamphetamine.

“A stranger couldn’t drive up in the drive-thru and get meth and a hamburger or a frosty,” Price said, “but certainly if they were familiar with you, you could have bought your food at the same time.”

Apparently Heisenberg wants a piece of that market. Next up we go to Missouri where… how… who… what causes a person to attempt to have sex with a car? I can’t even…

A Kansas man was charged today with lewd and lascivious behavior for his repeated attempts to have sex with the tailpipe of a parked automobile, according to court records.

Ryan Malek, 23, was named in a Municipal Court complaint accusing him of exposing himself with the intent of arousing or gratifying “sexual desires.” Malek has been summoned to appear in court on July 19 to answer the criminal charge.

Local cops responding to a 911 call about a man beneath a vehicle discovered Malek endeavoring to place his penis into the tailpipe of a car parked outside an apartment complex. Malek, a Newton resident, was “oblivious” when initially contacted by police.

Malek, whose blood alcohol content was later measured at more than four times the legal limit, continued trying to have sex with the tailpipe in the presence of officers. Cops subsequently tased Malek, took him into custody, and transported him to a local hospital for treatment.

Yes WTF lol indeed! Speaking of sex… man there’s a lot of sexy time happening in the Midwest and you know the movie Zack & Miri Make A Porno? Yeah that was a comedy, not real life! And there’s some places where you should definitely not porno at work.

Two firefighters in Ohio have been suspended for allegedly making pornographic videos at a firehouse.

Akron officials say Arthur Dean and Deann Eller were both placed on administrative leave on Monday while the city launched an investigation into the matter.

Fire Chief Clarence Tucker says someone told a firefighter last week about the acts possibly being performed on city property. The firefighter reported it to his supervisor, who then told the chief.

A spokesman for the local firefighters’ union says Eller and Dean have no comment.

Somehow I don’t think it was like that. But next up – is there something in the air or has Florida Man been breeding all over the country? I mean when you’re at an amusement park don’t attack the guy wearing the animal costume!

It's duck season after all at the Six Flags in Eureka, where an Illinois man reportedly attacked an employee wearing a Daffy Duck costume earlier this month.

KMOV reports that a 23-year-old man from Caseyville, Illinois assaulted the employee, a 19-year-old who was probably already having a rough enough go of it, what with having to wear a mascot costume in the St. Louis summer heat and all, on June 3 at approximately 8:50 p.m. Eureka police say that the man grabbed the costume by the bill, attempted to pull the employee to the ground and threatened to "beat his ass."

Shockingly, alcohol may have been involved, according to police, who say the suspect smelled like booze.

The Leader reports that there were no injuries. The man from Caseyville admitted to police that he grabbed the bill of the costume, but claims he thought that was allowed because he saw other people doing it.

The man was arrested on suspicion of assault and will have to appear in Eureka Municipal Court.

Elmer Fudd could not be reached for comment.

I’m sure the people writing that article had a good time coming up with cartoon references for this crazy story. Finally this week for People Are Dumb – we got to have our old buddy Florida man check in and show us what he’s been up to. So what has he been up to? Well, you know when you’re a kid and you forget to do your homework and you have to come up with an excuse as to why? Well…

State troopers last month pulled over a 2005 Nissan after spotting the auto being driven erratically on Interstate 95 outside Port St. Lucie.

When cops contacted the driver, they detected the “obvious and distinct odor” of booze “coming from inside the vehicle.” The motorist, Scott Garrett, 56, was lethargic, slurring his words, and had “red, very glassy, and blood shot” eyes. On the car’s front passenger seat was an open bottle of Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum.

Before performing a series of field sobriety tests, Garrett, pictured above, asked troopers to give him a ride to his Jupiter home. Garret then sought to pin the dangerous driving on another party: “He then stated he wasn’t driving the vehicle but it was...actually his dog,” an investigator noted.

Despite Garrett’s alibi, he was arrested for drunk driving (a breath test recorded his blood alcohol content at more than three times the .08 legal limit). A Florida Highway Patrol report noted that Garrett’s rap sheet includes three prior DUI convictions.

Deep State Diaries Episode 3: The FCC
[br]
[br]

It’s time for episode 3 of Deep State Diaries. Yes we’re touring the 24 branches and services that make up the United States government. Everything from the FBI to the IRS to the Pentagon to the CIA to the DPW to the DVA to parks and recreation and all branches and services in between. Of course if you’re here you probably already know more about our government and how it works than your average Fox News loving Trump supporter does. So that’s what this segment is going to address. We are going to do a deep dive into all that makes the United States the United States. Because we here at the Top 10 love to educate as well as entertain. Because we care.

The FCC

This week we’re heading down to one of the most controversial organizations in the US federal government – the Federal Communications Commission, otherwise known as the FCC. This wing of the Deep State is essentially the police department for all communications sources – which include television, radio, your 3G or 4G network of choice, and the internet. And since Trump installed Ajit Pai, is known for overturning the net neutrality laws. So what is going on at the FCC?

I support a free and open internet. The internet should be an open platform where you are free to go where you want, and say and do what you want, without having to ask anyone's permission. And under the Federal Communications Commission's Restoring Internet Freedom Order, which takes effect Monday, the internet will be just such an open platform. Our framework will protect consumers and promote better, faster internet access and more competition.

Our approach includes strong consumer protections. For example, we empower the Federal Trade Commission to police internet service providers for anticompetitive acts and unfair or deceptive practices. In 2015, the FCC stripped the FTC -- the nation's premier consumer protection agency -- of its authority over internet service providers. This was a loss for consumers and a mistake we have reversed. Starting Monday, the FTC will once again be able to protect Americans consistently across the internet economy, and the FCC will work hand-in-hand with our partners at the FTC to do just that.
https://www.cnet.com/news/fcc-chairman-our-job-is-to-protect-a-free-and-open-internet/

Really dude? You just voted to end Net Neutrality and gloated in our faces about it, and now all of a sudden you’re for a free and open internet? Which is it, Ajit? I don’t want to get too much into Net Neutrality because we’re almost done this week, and I don’t have that kind of time! So what else does the FCC do? Well they approve that device that you’re most likely viewing this on.

Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 have been spreading over the last couple of months and now the device’s existence has been confirmed. The Galaxy Note 9 has already been spotted at the FCC, signaling that the device might arrive earlier than its predecessor.

The Galaxy Note 9 was spotted at the FCC with the model number A3LSMN960F. The “SMN960F” part of the model number makes it certain that it is indeed the Note 9. The Galaxy Note 8 carried the model number SM-N950, so it’s obvious that the Note 9 will carry the model number SM-960F when it’s officially released. For further reference, the Note 7 was SM-N930 and the Note 5 was SM-N920, as pointed out by Droid Life.

The FCC filing for the Galaxy Note 9 also shows that the device will support LTE bands, which isn’t really a big surprise. Another thing to note about the handset’s model number is that “F” model numbers are typically associated with international variants of the handset. For the U.S. models, it’s likely that the Note 9 will have the model number SM-N960U. International models are usually approved earlier by the FCC than the U.S. models.

The FCC filing also confirms that the Note 9 will have Bluetooth, NFC and MST. For those unaware, MST is required because it’s what makes Samsung Pay work. Phone Arena also learned from the FCC documents that the device will have support for a stylus, which makes it even more likely for the device to debut as the Note 9.

So we’ve explored a couple of the good (?) things that the FCC does, now let’s get into the bad. One of the most annoying things about living in the 21st century is getting absolutely bombarded with spam calls, scammers, robodialers, and junk e-mails. Well, that’s about to get a whole lot worse if this happens.

There are 18 billion reasons why New Jersey Congressman Frank Pallone has introduced legislation to increase the enforcement power of the Federal Communications Commission in the area of unwanted phone calls to consumers.

Pallone's bill, named the Stopping Bad Robocalls Act, aims to curb the rise of robocalls that the Do Not Call Registry hasn't been able to address.

An estimated 18 billion of these calls were placed in the U.S. in 2017 — a 76 percent increase over the previous year. The country was home to more than 4 billion robocalls last month alone, according to the YouMail Robocall Index.

Some calls come from legitimate companies who follow the Do Not Call rules, but robocalls are also used by scammers looking to snag money or information from consumers. According to Pallone's office, robocallers bring in as much as $20 profit for every dollar spent on operations.
http://nj1015.com/nj-congressman-wants-to-close-robocall-loopholes/

And by the way, while we’re on the subject, if you think you’ve been bombarded with robocalls, you know how many were issued in 2017? This number will absolutely shock you!

4.1 billion. That’s the number of robocalls made to American consumers last month, according to the robocall index operated by YouMail, a robocall blocking service.

Managing illegal robocalls has been the FCC’s responsibility since the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) was signed in 1991, but a recent court decision means the FCC must reconsider how it defines—and handles—the most annoying phone calls.

In March, the U.S. federal appeals court in D.C. found that the Commission’s definition of autodialer could potentially apply to smartphones, and had to be reworked.

The court upheld the FCC’s position allowing a consumer any “reasonable means” to revoke his or her consent and its exemption for “time-sensitive healthcare calls.”

Holy shit that is a staggering number. We may have to do a deep dive on robocalls and scammers in a future edition. But for now I’ll just leave you with this on the FCC.

Net neutrality rules enacted under former President Barack Obama expired Monday, completing a move last year by the Federal Communications Commission to end the protections.

The rules oblige Internet service providers, or ISPs, to enable access of all content and applications, regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking particular products or websites.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has said the agency under Obama overstepped its authority when it imposed the 2015 regulations. The end of the rules comes as House Democrats are pressing for a resolution to reinstate them.

Supporters of net neutrality say killing the protections lets ISPs charge more and limit online access. Nearly two dozen states and several companies have sued the government to try and preserve the rules. Some states are creating their own net neutrality rules, but are barred by the FCC from implementing them.

I vote, recruit, and actively protest in my (and other) cities. What about forming a progressive city in another country? I don't see things getting better and I just want to hear your thoughts. I have been to Mexico, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany. I have also heard that Malta, New Zealand, Singapore, and Panama would be good places to live with a more progressive attitude. I am divorced and thinking about starting over. I would be prepared to renounce my citizenship as well. Your thoughts?
