California man charged in stabbing attack on refugee families in Idaho
An Idaho man was arrested late Saturday after allegedly stabbing nine people at a low-income apartment complex where refugee families live.
Four of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police, and all nine were taken to a hospital.
Boise Police Chief Bill Bones said at a press conference that it was not immediately clear whether all of the victims were refugees, according to the Idaho Statesman.
Bones suggested at the press conference that some of the victims may have been children. The attack is the largest stabbing in Boise history, he said.
"The age range of the victims varies dramatically, and it's affected all aspects of the families within the apartments," he said.
The 30-year-old suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint. Neither the stabber’s motive, nor his relationship to the victims was immediately known.
"It's a single, evil individual who attacked people with no provocation that we're aware of," Bones said.
A suspect was later identified Sunday as Timmy Kinner, 30, of Los Angeles, CBS News reported.
