Is Trump using ICE as his own "personal army"?

I heard someone call it that on one of the talk shows yesterday and I keep thinking about how far is he willing to take this "personal army" crap?

Someone stated that the people in ICE really did not want to do what Trump wanted them to do. They did not want to separate children from their parents. They did not want to take infants from their mothers. But, they did. They were just following orders...

I am beginning to agree with those that say it is time to tear it down and start over. Their actions are simply not acceptable. There needs to be immediate changes with ICE.

CBP enforces immigration law at or near the border.

Almost all the family separations you are hearing about happen after CPB aprhends people at or near the border who just illegally crossed.

So if you get caught 2 miles across the border you just crossed illegally that is CPB, who will detain you and take actions from there.

ICE is responsible for enforcement of immigration laws in areas of the country not near the border. So if you get arrested for some other charge and you are here undocumented ICE is who may pick you up at the jail. Or if you are an employer who has a bunch of undocumented workers ICE is who may raid your business.

They are two separate agencies, and it’s important to know the difference. The “abolish ICE” movement has been around a long time and, quite frankly, I think it hurts Democrats. It doesn’t help when Democratic leaders and candidates and activists use the family separations as an argument for abolishing ICE when it’s not ICE but CBP and the DOJ behind those. It makes it seem like we don’t even understand the basics of how the system works.

description.

They are not doing the job they were hired to do. It is at Donald Trump's request.
