No, Mr. Trump. Not everyone who bought a Harley voted for you.

Trump said on Sunday, "I guarantee you everybody that ever bought a Harley-Davidson voted for Trump," Trump said on Fox News's "Sunday Morning Futures." "I don’t know if you know that. I would have to — they call them bikers for Trump. There’s hundreds."

No, Mr. Trump. That's not true.

My brother, who is retired & in his 60s, has a Harley. He did not vote for you. Sadly, he didn't vote at all. But Harley or not, he HATES you. He thinks you're a Russian puppet, a con man, and an ignoramus. He thought so back in 2016. So NO...he would never have voted for you.

The bad news for the Dems was that he had an intense dislike for Hillary and would probably have not voted for her, either.

Even tho my brother is a gruff, burly motorcycle aging conservative dude, he was VERY DISTURBED in particular by the Access Hollywood tape of Trump's. Why? Because my brother, who is used to all sorts of female objectifying talk and is no stranger to acts of objectifying women, was shocked that a man would say that, much less DO what Trump was bragging about. He said that was NOT "locker room talk."

Some men have sisters. Yo, bro! You're an

Back in 1963, my parents bought me a motorcycle. Their thinking was that a car would get me in trouble when I went off to college. So, they found a 1958 Harley Davidson Hummer 165cc two-stroke motorcycle. Back in the day, Harley made some small-engined bikes, an mine was one of those. It made all of 10 horsepower, and would go 65 mph, downhill and with a tailwind. I suppose my parents were right. I never got in any trouble while I owned it.

Mine went to the junkyard in 1966. Something broke in the transmission and Harley no longer had parts for it. Oh, well. I bought a Yamaha YDS-7. That little 250cc bike made 30 hp and would touch 100 mph on a good day. A much better sort of motorcycle.

Still the old-fashioned look of the HD Hummer was sort of cool, although I didn't appreciate it that much at the time.

What was their thinking? Did they look into their crystal ball and see the Japanese invasion coming down the pike?

Other then being a two cycle, that is a very handsome bike. I wonder if they have a Hummer class in the Isle of Man races.

Even in the 60s, they had a line of lightweight (not really) 2-stroke bikes. It wasn't the Japanese they were worried about, though. It was the British and European makers.

The engines in the Hummer line were a lot like the British Villiers engines available at the time, but they were really a DKW engine and transmission unit. HD bought the rights to build them from that German company. They made a 125cc, a 165cc and a 175cc model in different years. It had just a 3-speed transmission, but the little 2-stroke engine was fairly torquey at lower RPMs. Once the Japanese lightweights arrived, Harley's lightweight line, which wasn't lightweight at all really, just couldn't keep up. The rigid rear end lasted all the way through the Hummer line until the end, which made that sprung saddle necessary.

They tried again, with a 250cc bike, powered by a 4-stroke engine made by Italian Aermacchi. It was OK, but it couldn't compete with Yamaha's 250cc screamers like the YDS series and later models.

The bike looked old-fashioned, even in the early 60s. I put a different seat on mine so I could carry a passenger, but it was still an old-fashioned motorcycle. Still, it got me around town at college.

Here's an interesting article on the HD lightweight bikes:

... one building reproductions of antique bikes.

If you ever want to ride, Trump, they'd be happy to put you on a three wheeler if your sense of balance ain't what it used to be.

Sometimes I feel a passing wisp of sadness for Trump, that he's never really lived a hard bare metal life, but it passes quickly when I realize he chose his prison -- fake hair , fake tan, a suit and red tie, pissing hookers in his incurious and closeted mind.
