Liberal group launches $5 million push against Trump's SCOTUS pick

A new group aiming to serve as a liberal counterweight to the right on judicial nominations plans to spend $5 million opposing President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick.

Demand Justice will invest in radio, TV, digital and voter mobilization, an official said. The campaign will focus on Maine and Alaska, home of moderate Senate Republicans Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, as well as Indiana, North Dakota and West Virginia, where vulnerable Senate Democrats are facing re-election.

TV ads will begin running in Maine and Alaska on Thursday focusing on abortion rights and Roe. v. Wade; radio ads will launch next week in those states. Republicans hope Collins and Murkowski will support Trump’s nominee in the closely divided Senate and allow them to confirm a new justice without Democrats’ help.

2. Give that $5M to the 2018 GOTV efforts...better spent that way.

We have to be real here...the GOP already killed the filibuster for judicial appointees to get Gorsuch through and we hold no more cards to play now then we did then...

The next nominee is going to be approved 50-49 and we cannot believe Collins or Murkowski (or depend on Manchin for that matter). It is game over there...the hope lies in retaking the Congress, running actual investigations and hearings and stopping the Trump travesty from getting worse.

$5M in wasted ads that make us feel slightly better versus $5M spent to actually get voters registered or to the polls in Nov.?
That shouldn't be a tough decision for maximum effectiveness...IMO, I have been known to be wrong from time to time...

cost to settle entire families provide housing while awaiting their hearinga or donate to organizations that are already doing same. They could do that...trump, gop will do why they do cheat, lie...besides they've already fixed supreme court to protect trump from being indicted, impeached.
