It's nice to live in a city with decent services. I wonder how long it will be

before all of that is dismantled by the Trumpites?

A little while ago I heard a loud creaking sound followed immediately by a very loud WHUMP. I looked outside and saw that a huge tree branch (half a tree, really) had fallen from a large tree across the street and landed right in the middle of the roadway, making it difficult for cars to get around it (it's a 2-lane residential street). So I called the city's non-emergency 311 service and reported it - and in less then 20 minutes the public works people had arrived. They're cleaning it up now. I was thinking what a great thing it is to have good public services like that, and I wonder how long it will be before the local government Trumpists, of which there are many everywhere, try to take it all away.

There's enough real stuff to be mad at Trump for; no need to imagine new ones.

And there are plenty of them everywhere. Don't assume that all the damage being done is at the federal level.

I work with local governments a lot. There are a bunch of arsonists who have decided to burn down the Government from the inside. They hate everything.

In my opinion, too many people pay attention to House and Senate races and ignore the local stuff.

Farmers who still support him despite the agricultural tariffs. People who are losing their health care because of his policies. There are people - cultists, really - who don't see the cause and effect. If Trumpists took over the city council in my town and started cutting services, other Trumpists would just complain about the inefficiency of the city employees responsible for delivering the services and not get why it was happening.

When it capped tax deductibility of state and local taxes, they hoped to hurt mostly blue communities that have good services paid by citizens’ taxes.

... pointed it at that fallen tree branch and DEMANDED it remove itself from the road.

This is why our taxes are too high.
