it seemed to me GHWBush was promoting the usual GOP notion that private charities should provide the social safety net instead of the government - and we know private charity, while a good thing, is completely insufficient. But it wasn't mean-spirited (like so much of what Trump says and does); there was certainly nothing wrong in itself with just promoting charity. But Trump was blathering about how he didn't understand what it meant, suggesting it was a meaningless slogan, unlike MAGA. Probably he thought it was too weak and hippy-dippy and nice; god knows we shouldn't be nice when we can swing our dicks and be all manly and shit. In any event, in typical Trump fashion, he offered up another gratuitous, stupid, incoherent insult directed at a former president of his own party. And the MAGAts ate it up.

War heroes - push hate for them and for their families (Gold Star)
Charity - push hate for caring about others
Liberal democracies that have stood beside us in war & that have helped keep peace for 70 years - hate and say they are the security threats
Caring for children - cage children and don't track them so they are stolen from their parents,, then lie about it in court
Voting - want to suppress voting rights for citizens and enable stealing the vote by foreign opponents for their personal benefit
Rapist - hire them and lie about what they've done, don't prosecute them as the victim are liars or because they just dont matter as much as the rich white male.
Dictatorships - support them enthusiastically and try to remake America in their image

That's all part of the drumpf way and part of what he and other Russian Repugs are doing or trying to do.
