But let's also come out and admit it: There's no way he's getting re-elected. Those people are simply going to vote Republican if anybody gives them anything even vaguely resembling an excuse. There's an argument that he may as well go out in a blaze of glory, but I'm coming around to the argument that if the state ever goes at least a little purple then at least he won't be a radical liberal bogeyman for whoever is running at that time.

if the nom looks like an easy confirm, he will go along with the majority. If not, he may risk some political capitol.
