While not a direct quote, that, in a nutshell, is why Trump picked him. Kav wrote an opinion on that quite some time ago.

It is all about Trump.

when have republicans cared about what the Constitution says?

This SCOTUS nominee has basically said that the President, actually THIS current president, is way above the law. Like Nixon's supporters used to say, "if the president does it, it's legal" or words to that effect.

All trump "administration" members need to be locked up for being the treasonous bastards that they are.
That includes trump's SCOTUS picks, gosuck and kavanaugh.
