We've surpassed the idea of "good Germans". There are a lot of Muricans who'd welcome our Soviet overlords, as long as they'll let them persecute the groups they hate. It might not sound like "master race" bullshit, but it's exactly the case.

That aunt that we all have on Facebook who constantly shares thinly veiled racist memes and her picture is the Thin Blue Line or Blue Lives Matter, she's a pro-Soviet Nazi sympathizer. She'd welcome the destruction of America in order to further her racist (and christian) ideals. We've all got this aunt and I've got a dozen family members like this.

But after looking into what they were doing the Democrats probably had a lot less to use against them so they targeted someone running as a republican to use to undermine more of them for more control, which i think is going on right now. It may also be why trump picked who he picked for the Supreme Court position , they had more on him to use against him for control of his votes, and used for Kennedy's exit now.
