***Michael Avenatti's powerful speech made me cry.***

Last edited Wed Jul 11, 2018, 07:38 PM - Edit history (2)

He was speaking at Public Justice, as one of a group of attorneys who received a trial lawyer of the year award.

What a speech. So many strong lines.

"These are my people too."
"And so I want to say a word tonight to white men. . . . "
"We will make America decent again."
"We will make America, America again."

It's 9 minutes long. I'll never see him the same way again.

1. Good speaker

He's in front of the issues. The USA is aware of him. Getting exposed for 2020 run. If he keeps going in a positive way, he will be a force.

10. That's a legitimate fight for the primaries. Hopefully, in the general, you'll get behind

whoever America chooses as our Democratic candidate.

For me, I think he brings plenty of experience. No one knows how to be President until they do it. He has skills to learn the job, in my view.

18. Vice President

He would play the role of a Vice President perfectly. And if he wants to run, 2024 will mean he has four solid years of national political experience.

Not like Cheeto who is fresh out of the sewer.

In fact, I'd enjoy seeing him there.

considering his educational background and effectiveness in getting things done.

6. Impressive. Hey...a lot of good slogans, there!

MAAA Make America, America Again

MARA Make America Respected Again

MADA Make America Decent Again

Works for me! A lot better than the current slogan, which is so bland I forget what it is.

To take children from their mothers without due process is in my view cruel and unusual punishment.

21. Well there you have it

what a reasonable common sense upper crust male soul would say in the 18th century, and what most people would consider cruel just a year or two ago, and perhaps clearly where Michael Avenatti is going with it. He is opening an additional impeachable possibility independent of OSC investigation. Avenatti is as bright as they come.

A GOP Congress thinks differently.

candidates. But I hope he hits the campaign trail for our nominee and makes this kind of wonderful speech.

15. I don't know much about his life, but he could win the presidency and would not have

to deal with the political past that some other candidates would have to deal with.

I wouldn't count him out at this point. We shall see.

Avenatti is speaking words that all Americans need to hear.

He's speaking words of who we Americans always thought we were and have tried to be.

16. Don't trust him

I like everything I've heard him say. I've agreed with everything I've heard him say. But for some reason I don't trust him. Something about him rubs me the wrong way. This is no Barack Obama. He strikes me as an opportunist. A used car salesman. Who knows, maybe that's what the Dems need right now.

He hasnít made one misstep. He worked with Biden. Overall really well liked
Repulsives havenít dug up any dirt on him though you know theyíve looked.
Heís totally woke.

Dems really like him so Repugs naturally want us to think thereís something shady.

36. "But for some reason I don't trust him." ??

Describing him as a used car salesman, which has a dis-honest/negative frame around it, rubs me the wrong way, Peak.
It sounds like a devisive comment.
Drive a wedge into this admiration discussion?

The thing is, he's not selling a questionable product with a rolled back odometer.

It seems to me that the only way, in our media driven beliefs, to become a much seen spokesperson for
the working class/non-elites, on nationally broadcast TV, is to be somewhat of a 'huckster/showman/opportunist'.
Would he have the same 'powers' if he were sitting in a cubicle somewhere doing daily drudgery cases?
Would you agree?

Or, are you of the opinion that all lawyers are 'shady'?

Would you not jump at an opportunity to have your message known to the world?

31. Most Impressive!!

Well written! Yeah, he could run for President. I think he would have a good shot at it. And think about how Spanky would detest having to debate Michael!! Oh that would be fun to watch. I really don't see who from the Democratic party is charismatic enough to go up against Spanky Spank-me-now. Maybe they can get Mark Cuban to run and Michael could get his feet wet as V-P. Spanky would be terrified.
