“President Trump upended the NATO summit here Thursday by calling an emergency meeting of leaders and threatening that if all member countries do not immediately increase their defense spending commitments, the United States would go it alone,” the Washington Post reports.

“It was not clear whether Trump was threatening a U.S. withdrawal from NATO, but some diplomats perceived his comments that way.”

“Trump told NATO leaders that if they did not meet their defense spending targets of 2 percent of gross domestic product by January, the United States would go it alone… The officials said Trump threatened to ‘do his own thing.’”

Politico: “Some officials urged caution in interpreting Trump’s remarks, but say allies clearly heard a threat.“

B/c at the end of the day, everyone but him is an adult and doesnt want the world to descend into an abyss so they decide to give something, which the dotard touts as the greatest thing America has ever done on the world stage. Look at NK, he pretty much got nothing, but NK made some vague concessions. But before that he had everyone thinking he might nuke them. Its just how he operates, I cant imagine trying to do any kind of deal w/ him in real estate where there arent the perameters of government to go through.
