The OP's point, as I understand it, is that the GOP would have attempted to smear Hillary with it, whereas now they are trying to stop the investigation. And if the narrative had been completely reversed, IF Hillary had been the one who had apparently benefited from meddling, they would have gone crazy with investigation fever, whereas now they are complaining that it's a witch hunt.

… the vote. Her message was the most popular. But, she wasn't elected. I agree that the Republicans would be investigating her... they would be doing that for the duration. They would not like the findings, when released to show the Trump campaign's criminal activity.
