It was apparently assumed at the time that the system that was set up would ensure fair elections, and if a president proved to be unsuitable he could be impeached. Unfortunately they didn't anticipate a corrupt, craven Congress that wouldn't do anything about unfair elections or bad presidents.

There are specific constitutional responses. Declaring the election null isn't one of them.

There is nothing in place to correct this, but we must do something to protect an occurrence like this from happening in the future.

interested in the Comey fiasco releasing the letter to the republicans in Congress 11 days before the election, which only demonstrates just how stupid he was. 11 days before the election, when they had the laptops in question sitting in the NY office for over 2 months

Instead let's focus on winning 2018 and 2020, then we can start prosecuting these miserable motherfuckers once they are out of power for good.

So how would one go about doing this. Military coup? I am not so sure that is a good idea. Judicial fiat? Do we really want judges appointed for life who are not elected to have the power to overturn an election? Congressional action? Better than the other two but... what kind of supermajority would you suggest? Two thirds? Simple majority? Over turning an election starts a dangerous path that can be used by either side... Would you want Rethugs to have the power to nullify a democrat victory.
