Now we know who hacked and leaked the DNC emails -- and it was NOT Seth Rich. But two years ago the rightwing was suggesting that the murder was retaliation for him leaking -- and the HRC campaign was somehow behind it.

Maybe this conspiracy story is finally over, once and for all. But Mueller has a curious new hire.

But the fever swamps of the far right argued that somehow Seth Rich, who was shot to death about a block from where he lived in Washington, DC, on July 10, 2016, was the real source of the Wikileaks emails, saying that Seth, who worked at the DNC as the director of voter expansion data, was a supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders and thus leaked the emails to help Sanders just before the Democratic National Convention was to take place.

In March, the Riches filed a lawsuit in New York accusing Fox News and two Fox News contributors of manipulating them and using a former private investigator they’d hired to help find Seth’s killer, all to help push the false story that Seth Rich gave DNC emails to Wikileaks and was murdered as a result.

Kathryn Rakoczy

Rakoczy’s role on Mueller’s investigation—made public in a June 22 court filing—has raised some questions in Washington legal circles. An assistant U.S. attorney in the district of D.C., Rakoczy is best known for her work on violent crime cases. She focused on misdemeanors until about eight years ago, and then shifted to primarily prosecuting D.C. street crime. A Washington criminal defense attorney familiar with her work, who spoke anonymously to prevent tension between himself and Rakoczy, said her work for Mueller has generated some head-scratching, since Mueller isn’t investigating any violent street crimes.
