Republicans moving to impeach Rosenstein soon before Mueller zeroes in on trump...

Rosenstein will likely be replaced with Brian Benczkowski who has/had ties to Russia's Alfa Bank -- a Russian bank that has faced scrutiny in the federal investigation into Moscow's influence on the 2016 presidential election. Benczkowski will likely halt the Mueller investigation permanently. And if that can't protect trump, new USSC justice Kavanaugh will when the various cases reach the Supreme Court. Protecting trump from the Mueller investigation and any subsequent indictments or criminal charges is why both Benczkowski and Kavanaugh were nominated.

Sources told the publication that conservatives have been preparing to have Rosenstein impeached for weeks over allegations that he’s held up their investigation into FBI agents who some lawmakers say are biased against President Trump.

House Freedom Caucus leaders Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) are leading the effort, and the impeachment document could be filed as soon as Monday, according to Politico.

Ben Williamson, a spokesman for Meadows, declined to rule out if it would be filed next week, Politico reported.

The news comes the same day that Rosenstein announced charges against 12 Russian intelligence officials for allegedly hacking the Democratic National Committee.

Rosenstein has long been a target for Republicans who are frustrated over special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into election meddling by Russia and possible collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign. He is overseeing the probe after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation, and some argue that he's the only person with the legal authority to fire Mueller.

he can't let the investigation continue . . .he must shut it down and deal with the political consequences. or he wil have to deal with the backlash against his whole administration and republican congresscritters even if he is not himself indicted.

He won't back down.

They know that they won't get enough votes in Senate to impeach Rod but they are hoping this could enable Trump to fire him using their grounds of impeachment to provide political cover to Trump and shield him against accusations of obstruction if Trump decides to fire Rod.
