Since the Russian military attacked the US via hacking the election

and screwing up our democracy does that make us in a war (a cold war, a cyber war) with Russia? I have heard this often over the past few months and a ton today since Mueller has named the specific Russian military officials who are directly involved and indicted today?

AND if we are in an unofficial war...now what?

I think that's the point in naming names. There will be no sources to protect if we do not prevail. I sense the treason table is set.

And the new Democratic President should make it one of his/her FIRST acts in office to respond in kind (whether through sanctions or by actually dropping bombs).

Quisling: noun

Origin of quisling

1940, from Vidkun Quisling (1887-1945), Norwegian fascist politician who headed the puppet government during the German occupation of Norway in World War II; shot for treason after German defeat. First used in London Times of April 15, 1940, in a Swedish context.

which is TRAITOR. I think to officially be considered a traitor there has to be a declared war with a declared enemy (?).

In other words, we don't need to bomb Russia or retaliate.

I suppose some will support sanctions, but I’d rather spend our efforts on prevention, surveillance, new systems, prosecution of any assisting or encouraging this stuff including highest government officials, etc.

It won’t just be Russia trying this stuff on us, besides we’ve done our share of this junk. We need to be prepared to fend off any country’s cyber efforts, including old enemies and new ones trump creates.
