today called the PResident "treasonous" and "a traitor" in his NY Times column. That's just one example of hundreds in the "mainstream media." Do I need to post all the links? Note that this very Scottish publication cites the Washington Post and the New York Times as source material for its opinion.

I'm tired of the broad-brush denunciations of American journalism. It's almost as bad as Trump's attacks against us. We are not "the enemy of the American people," but I wouldn't know that sometimes reading DU comments.

Although there are plenty of newspaper and radio new distributors that are guilty as well. Generally speaking, the Washington Post and NY Times have been better. And it sure as he'll doesn't excuse Fox "News" from being the lying propaganda outlet for the Republican Party.

But I also think a lot of liberals remember the media cheerleading that preceded the Iraq War. That whole episode I think damaged the credibility of the MSM more than they realize.

There are lots of similar themes in the American MSM. Maybe not nearly enough, but they're there if you look, although you wouldn't think so from some of the comments made here in DU. We need to look at more than one source, in print, on TV, and online, to get a real sense of what the American media is saying.

Blaming the media for keeping quiet -- while keeping equally quiet -- is not an answer. Just yesterday I emailed CNN about DJT's refusal to take a question from Jim Acosta and encouraged them to follow up on it. I also reminded them about the Washington Post and the Pentagon Papers.

Sometimes comments here on DU re American media sound like Donald Trump. It's true that SOME in the media have to look at themselves closely because of their laziness/incompetence/complicity during the campaign (her emails!), but many sounded the alarm early and often.

They speak the truth.

"The president lies an average of 6.5 times a day."
That's a conservative estimate.

I met a pair of Scotts on a recent trip and hung out with them for 7 days, they were the best, so funny yet grounded in reality. i wish we could afford to go visit them, but alas, we can't.

This is a very well written summation of the person in charge of leading our country. It's a reminder of only some of the nasty, vile, evil things he has done and said, and rather than being frightened, I am supremely sad about what the United States has become in my lifetime and I've been alive almost seven decades.

Hollywood and the entertainment industry did this for years.

Maybe it's time to stop coming to Sarah's press bullshit sessions. Just report what they said (according to Fox or whomever chooses to cover their lies), and then print the truth. We'll all appreciate it and it will probably earn some actual respect.

Or, keep being held hostage.
